Found another article. It was taken down on Feb 9, and put back on the Feb 12. It has flown ever since.

I've taken a few people to their first WH, and was met with similar reactions because I'd talked it up too much, I guess.

Also the servers "call out" the orders to the cooks, and cooks have a code of placing the dishes on the line with certain items on top to track them. Examples:
- Syrup cup: Waffle
- Upside down syrup cup: Pecan waffle
- Ketchup: Sirloin steak, with the placement on the plate denoting the doneness

I agree with everything Cathy said and will paraphrase an old twitter post I have saved on my phone: "waffle house is basically a hibachi restaurant." Especially if you sit at the counter, everything going on in the kitchen is in full view. When they're hustling, they HUSTLE.
