I get it, I do. Of course we shouldn’t throw around accusations w/o research and valid concerns. But this is social media; people are gonna mob for the clicks. Nothing to be done for it but keep your own house clean, and do due diligence when we see fit to mention issues. ( I said “doo doo”, heh…)

Okay, I found the accusations, and I don’t think they honestly had a whole lotta weight. I saw more kerfuffle accusing the Duffer brothers of using ChatGPT to write the fifth season, which, naaaah. Accusations *will* happen. Not sure this means we should let AI slide, regardless. It’s tough.

Ugh, I didn’t see that. Which season? I mean, there will always be smart asses who don’t know genAI from, say, a Blender 3-D render, and usually that’s pretty easy to debunk. (I’ll google and see if I can find what you’re referring to…)

Or do we just sit on our hands? Let people use AI and hope the public speaks with their pocket book and doesn’t buy their AI and AI-assisted products? Do we let it slide? What happens if using AI becomes the norm, then?

I’m seeing tell of AI “witch hunts” and I get it. No one likes to be accused of using AI when they didn’t. But it’s not a witch hunt if there’s actually AI involved, right? Are people really getting “cancelled” when there’s legit no AI at all? Is there a way to handle this gracefully? (1/2)

I have done this too! Even if the ad had been a photobash with stock photos, it would’ve been humanly authored and executed. If you believe genAI is a good visual shepherd for your craft, what does that say about you, and what you make? Did you even make it? Do you hate your fellow artists? CHEAP.

God, I'm immeasurably pissed that genAI has made it such that I struggle to enjoy looking at contemporary figurative art anymore, or read self-published novels. So much trust has been broken.

I FEEL THIS. I'm finally getting the hang of CSP, for image editing purposes (color correction and whatnot), but I'm still trying to figure out the painting process. Procreate is really great for sketching, though. But that's yet *another* program to figure out, lol!

(I'm the same way and am struggling to get it to do what I want it to do, but that's a me problem, lol!)

I only have an iPad so right now, it's Procreate, which I like! But it's very different than Photoshop (which I don't want to use anymore, for aaaallll the reasons). I haven't tried to use CSP on it, tho... 🤔

A mezcal & amaro cocktail with a skull-shaped ice cube and orange peel

Been lagging on the cocktails! The hubs found a weird, simple one, but dang if it doesn't work. Equal parts mezcal (we used El Buho) and Amaro Montenegro. Chill, serve over a big cube. We added an orange peel for garnish and a little brightness. Ingeniously called the M&M.
