In the last few moments of quiet before the show officially began, while I was waiting backstage to make my first entrance as The Witch, I took a couple of seconds to look up to the heavens and whisper, “This is for you, Bobby.”

Yesterday was a whirlwind… our first audience, our tech period officially over, last minute things we needed to either put in or refine. Some details are still in the process of refinement today and will probably continue on for a few days more.

This might have to be my go-to movie for whenever I feel the darkness in my soul taking over the light. And heaven knows we always need light. /end

I went into the movie wanting to feel hopeful in a world that seems to be growing increasingly cynical, and I got what I needed in the moment: a powerful alien superhero who’s kind and empathetic, and seeing the billionaire bad guy get his comeuppance.

My girl friends and I scheduled dinner and a movie for after rehearsals last night. The flick we chose: Superman.
