Resident Evil recently turned 30, so I dove into its development and what made and makes it such a genre-defining success decades later. This game is a masterpiece, and its 2002 remake that allowed Shinji Mikami and Co. to show off the entirety of the dream of survival horror is even better.

Following a network of key actors is for me fundamental to the kind of work I try to do. It's their work that, in one way or another, constitutes what is accepted as truth about the genre they engage with.
It's about capturing the recurrences that emerge in language. Whether a trend or an idea eventually becomes accepted as truth is not for me to decide. I can, however, observe how culture and the dicourses are constituted and do my best to describe and analyze them.
During my master's, while researching the insurrections that took place in Brazil in 2013, I came to understood that the idea of examining discourses from a Foucaultian perspective is not a matter of determing what in fact something is or is not.
Great list! Journal with Witch is def my favorite of this season while I was taken aback by how good You and I Are Polar Opposites is. Shiboyugi is also a spont on pick considering how unique the visual language of this anime is.
