This is great news! Hoping you’re elected and can help steer BACP in a sensible direction. Thank you for standing.

Hi Jeremy, I watched the recording of session 2 today (sadly couldn’t attend live) and I just wanted to thank you for such a careful, compassionate & detailed training session. Really inspiring and I learnt a lot. Has really cemented my interest in CSA and how we work with clients w/ that history.

Consider your day made in that case. Such important work you’re doing 💙

I’m so glad to find you on Bluesky - I wanted to write and thank you for this. I so enjoyed your segment; it spoke so accurately to my experiences, 6m into motherhood. Your impassioned points about the experience gap and the way fathers can just go out really resonated. I will seek out your book!

Thank you both @jogil.bsky.social and @alejandrahope.bsky.social for these thoughts - I so enjoy reading things on here which make me think - hard - about among other things, my practice, my intake forms, and my blind spots. You’re making me (hopefully) a better therapist!

🎂 Happy 129th Birthday to Donald Winnicott, born on this day in 1896!

I think for me it goes beyond that attentive and curious listening, and covers the mental space I have for my clients, holding them in mind, and for them to ‘be’ both in and out of sessions. It’s the internal work and thinking I’m doing about them, whenever that might happen.

A beautiful reflection on the value of long term therapy. How we get society to hear it I don’t know…

What a joyous read. Congratulations @bitesizetherapy.bsky.social

Childhood Memories: Their Impact on Mothers and Their 0–3-year-old Children with Ilene Lefcourt (New York) Psychoanalysis On and Off the Couch · Episode

After quite the hiatus from Bluesky, here’s another podcast recommendation. I loved the immediacy, accessibility and apparent potency which psychoanalytic ideas had in these (ostensibly non-psychoanalytic) groups. What power they held for these parents and children! open.spotify.com/episode/5MqM...

Simple perhaps, but not often done - to the point that I didn’t realise how helpful that kind of information was for me until I received it and read it. Really put me at ease to know what to expect. Thank you again and really looking forward to it ☺️

I’ve booked onto a fantastic-looking workshop next week covering Harm in Therapy with @aclientfirst.bsky.social - so, so refreshing to receive full and thoughtful information prior to the event about accessibility and setting out precisely how the event will run. Thank you Erin for your care.

What I learned about being a woman outdoors during my Winter Munro Round Anna Wells was the first woman to complete a Winter Munro Round. So, what did it teach her about being a woman outdoors?

Ignore the 'blue monday' BS, and choose Bluebird Monday instead...

Would be fascinating to know what their plans are for staying financially viable and producing high-quality clinicians, while expanding access.

But I don’t know how all those things be made accessible w/o analysts working for free. I genuinely don’t know what the answer is!

I totally agree! I’m really not sure how they can increase diversity with the trainings as they are - nor what should/could change. I think it’s right that analysts have their own depth analyses (£££), intensive supervision & clinical discussion…

It’s such a huge commitment in so many ways isn’t it? I was reading the SAPP requirements and you have to have four times a week analysis…! How people do it with families/jobs/caring commitments I’ll never know.

Also, any advice for someone wanting to eventually do analytic training - how to prepare etc - would be very much appreciated too!

Reading my ridiculous stack of books and unread pdfs - meticulously filed of course - will for now have to sate my desire for widening my thinking and exercising my brain. Any cheap(ish) analytic CPD recommendations would be very welcome!

Not me carefully reading the prospectuses for various analytic trainings when I really don’t have the money or time to commit to even preparing for entry to one…. 🙃

Out of Doors - Nordic Skiing, Mountain Rescue and A Weather Eye - BBC Sounds Mark Stephen and Rachel Stewart with stories from the great outdoors.

Today’s musings whilst on our daily walk - I should try roller skiing. I have spent the last few hours researching where this would be possible… I blame this weeks’ BBC Scotland #OutOfDoors episode:

What’s a girl to do when the 2025 diary she ordered last year (admittedly on Boxing Day) has been ‘delayed in transit’ and won’t arrive until the middle of this month? Beginning of January ruined 😵‍💫
