So the Clean Power Plan was never implemented. Now, want to hear something funny?
The targets in the Clean Power Plan -- for growth in clean energy, for retirements of dirty energy -- were exceeded. Before the deadline. *Without the reg being passed.*

Do you notice when you completely invent the person you’re arguing with instead of engaging with the reality of who they are and what they’re saying, or is that just instinctual by now?
A headline reads: "Times Exclusive: The Inside Story of 5 Days That Remade the Supreme Court. Secret memos obtained by The New York Times illuminate the origins of the court’s now-routine 'shadow docket' rulings on presidential power."
Confidential memos by Supreme Court justices, obtained by The New York Times, show how they decided to bypass time-tested procedures and create the modern “shadow docket,” a rushed and secretive new way of doing business. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/18/u...
You’re connecting birthplace and housing policy knowledge as if everyone agrees they have any relationship. “You can only apply your knowledge of a field of study to the place you were born” is a ridiculous opinion and you taking it as axiomatic in this one case is exactly what I’m talking about.
This is just nativist conservative thought, man. Makes me question all your journalism on other topics when you seem incapable of understanding how counterfactual your beliefs on policy on housing are, and insta-block anyone challenging you.
r/OMNY u/Mediocre_Author_2794 • 2d Delayed transaction? Get a ticket. Found out the hard way what happens if a fare enforcer checks your phone for payment when OMNY delays posting your transaction: you get a ticket. MTA let me off with a warning, but what a hassle. I asked the guy if it happens often, and he told me "all the time." Also asked him if I would have better luck with the OMNY cards. Nope. Same deal. His suggestion? Wait until it posts and then dispute the violation. SO if there's a delay (which happens all the time), you're getting pulled off the bus. Edit: sorry, assumed this was common knowledge, the MTA enforcer has a device you tap. It shows the most recent transaction. My apple pay tap finally showed up hours later!! So
If it happens “all the time,” then fare enforcement should stop on MTA Buses until they have a fare collection and validation method that doesn’t punish people who have done nothing wrong. Cannot believe this is still happening.
Do we think he's genuinely mad about this and has no idea how stupid this sounds to a normal person? Or is this somehow a grift?
Also drives me insane that the spam filtering still shows all those filtered voicemails as unread with a badge on the icon (and counts calls with a voicemail twice for some stupid reason)
Reading between the lines of recent @nyc-dot.bsky.social community board presentations reveals a more confident agency under Mayor Mamdani than under Adams, with DOT actively pushing back against overblown and downright false narratives that bike lanes worsen traffic or block first responders.
lmao neither Gillibrand nor Schumer are on here
relative to baseline partisanship NY might have the worst democratic senators in the country
One reason is that it locks in land use as parking lots.
Struggling to think of a reason the threshold on home value shouldn't be $0 but it's a nice start!
another tax we should do is a $1,000 dollar tax on every passenger helicopter ride. seriously though why don’t we do this
What awful survey question design!
If you're in the NYC area: Zohran and his new DOT are going to bat for us, we need to be there to support the new plan for doubling the length of 31st St.
We have a high speed rail line on that very corridor in the US.
Manhattan's West Village is the poster child for how historically preserving the buildings in high-demand neighborhoods eventually displaces all but the richest people.
Case in point: a mansion created from two adjacent Bank Street townhomes will sell for more than SEVENTY MILLION DOLLARS.
Will this design be done in temporary materials first so the safety benefits are immediate while construction takes years?
a happy 20th neil banging out the tunes day to all
designers please learn to code. i promise it is not hard unless you try learning it from one of those weird youtube people who make it exponentially more difficult than it needs to be for absolutely no reason. start with basic html and css and you can make your own cool shit in a matter of hours.

My nitpick on this design is that the outer ring could have a couple blocks made into plazas so that through traffic is impossible, rather than duplicating a through route of the inner ring.
Huge to see this move forward.
But the dump bags on the curb system has already been replaced with the individual bins (at least for smaller multifamily buildings?) That’s what I’m confused about.
As someone who’s already using the individual bins, does this mean I’m already “containerized”? Or is “containerization” just the on-street bug dumpster bins?
