If we as a country take nothing else from this whole debacle, it should be this: as the US government sought to wipe us off the map, their whole cultural and political spheres looked the other way, the same as when they destroyed countries across the global south.

We are not special to them.

I am 70 years old and have never witnessed such a loss of trust and respect so quickly by Canadians for their former American friends. Contempt and scorn seem to be most common attitudes. It will never be the same. Sad
