In environments where vulnerability is mocked or dismissed, people learn to conceal the feeling. They may become fluent in productivity while losing touch with their inner weather.
Still better than the sh*t they tell us everyday. Puppies always save the day.

The more you try to catch joy, the more it runs away. It arrives on its own. When you stop running toward it and begin rooting yourself in the present moment, joy finds you. It rises quietly from the earth beneath your feet, settles into your breath, & becomes something you carry rather than chase.
A smile, an Awww, and maybe a tear or two. π₯°

A life held so fragile, It breaks with a word. What then was its worth, With the "we" now interred? βVows etched in cursive, Now blurred by the rain, Ten years of devotion Released from the strain. βYet life finds the cracks Where the spirit can grow, The worth was in learning To finally let go.

Picture from project happiness.org. Author is Holly Holden. Today I asked my body what she needed, which is a really big deal, considering my journey of not rolling, asking that much. I thought she might need more water, or protein, or greens, or yoga or supplements, or movement. But as I stood in the shower, reflecting on her stretch marks, her roundness where I would like flatness, her softness where I would like firmness, all those conditioned wishes that form a bundle of never quite rightness. She whispered a very gently: could you just love me like this?
Love this!
Scientists have discovered that one dog year does not equal seven human years.
