Today I turn 89. I’ve seen this country at its best and its worst, and I know how much community matters. For my birthday, I’m asking you to stand with PFLAG and support the work that’s helped so many in the LGBTQ+ community, including me. give.pflag.org/page/95493/d...

House Republicans keep trying to change the name of their budget bill — but it won’t change the fact that their legislation enacted the largest cut to food assistance for working Americans in history.

I haven't voted for a Republican for President since I cast my first vote in 1980. I'm not sure what your "Enjoy it" means here. I didn't ask for any of this.

I love this! Googling now to see how to pronounce so I can use it in everyday parlance.

In a regime loaded with punchable faces, it's a close race between Scott Bessent and this smug fucker to see who wins the title of Most Punchable Face.

And no, I am not encouraging actual violence. Punchable Face is just a term of derision

I'm not sure why this hasn't received more "press". This is required reading, as far as I'm concerned.

Hopefully, Roberts goes down as the worst and most corrupt Chief Justice in history.

WTF? I can't find ANY news source carrying anything about this.

It passed??!?

Impact on Boundary Waters: It effectively enables proposed copper sulfide mining in the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, which opponents warn will cause, "irreversible damage" and acidify water.

In Turkey, an elderly man who earns his living by shining shoes is visited every morning at the same time by a cat that asks to have its fur brushed. The man never turns down this little friend.😍👍💙

Before the rise of Shitler my biggest concern was the environment. But thanks to the outrages he has caused my attention shifted to the more immediate concerns. We're headed toward the waterfall

Europe cannot bet on a post-Trump US turning back to sanity | Rafael Behr If the president’s first term didn’t inoculate the American body politic against tyranny, there is no guarantee that a second dose will work, says Guardian columnist Rafael Behr

This is why we just invoke the 25th NOW! We have to attempt to repair the damage to our relationships with strategic allies and show the world we don't support a war criminal.

I'm not sure how you can be against removing this man from office right now. What will it take? A nuke being dropped? It's too late then. The purpose of impeachment and the 25th Amendment is to prevent that type of thing from happening, not just to react to it.

I didn't know who needs to hear this, but if you consider what's occurring daily here is the US normal (or god forbid, desirable), you are the problem. If you think this is just business as usual and all politicians are equally corrupt, you are just demonstrably wrong.

But ... We have to be careful to not embrace the "everything we do is God's plan" approach the other side takes. Like when Kegsbreath says that media is not being patriotic when reporting on the "Iranian Excursion". A little self reflection and critique is good.

I simply don't understand how we live in a country where I view someone as being totally unworthy of office and easily being the worst president of all times and others what to erect shrines to him and put his image on coins.

How can we see reality so differently?
