They WANT to exhaust you, so do whatever you need to to disconnect ("yes" to all your suggestions). I'd also say just to follow the most important issue TO YOU, not the chaos of the day. Pick something to focus on, donate, talk about it and just stick to your one thing to advocate for.

My 85 year old dad and I were on a driving trip this weekend, and some jerk going 90+ mph was weaving in and out, almost caused an accident right in front of us. Dad yelled, "Trump voter!" instead of "Asshole!", and it immediately became what we would say every time we saw a jerky driver.
"America First" is a philosophy of "ME first". And most of us don't like selfish people. We don't enjoy being around entitled, cut-in-line, the-world-revolves-around-me, road-rage kind of people. They actually suck.
These are the MAGATS.
I have one friend who lives close enough to just come over when she or I need support. We ALL need this friend. A hug is priceless.
It's all public, unless you block folks you don't actually know. 😔 It's cumbersome and not the solution I was hoping for, but at least I have a way to connect with folks...
