For these kinds of paradigms state space modeling is the way to go! :-)

Excellent paper about purposiveness in biology. Important critique of the dynamical systems approach as a "simple" solution to the computationalism approach.
Highly relevant to the enactive approach too.

these studies are super cool!
It's in a very different context (threat/safety) but I just marvel at the richness of insula responses, including sustained signals which are not investigated in fMRI that often.
Great talk by Nadine on perception and imagination.
@nadinedijkstra.bsky.social the anterior insula region you found is dorsal or ventral? Without looking again I'm betting dorsal. We've been looking at insula subregions more extensively and finding lots of differences.

that would be a reward!!
you're hire #1 after I join the dept! ๐
the part from faculty to postdoc is true though, best decision!
yay!
*Neuroscience and philosophy*
Given the philosophical/conceptual naivete of all of neuroscience I will be retiring from my faculty position. I'm now looking for positions at philosophy departments and am happy to start at any level. I went from faculty to postdoc before and am ready again.
I guess some are opening to dynamics...

Great paper discussing the challenges of understanding brain representations and the models-brain correspondence

thanks!
yes, one of my hobbies is to learn about the architecture of vertebrates in general!
This one is pretty exciting! (to me at least)
