tbf it’s only on initial load that the shaders tank the frame rate like that, but still it gives a bad impression if a game that looks like this still stutters. so i had to try to fix it at least

also yeah, capped at 24. arbitrary decision but now it feels wrong at any other setting lol

please excuse the 91 errors... half are due to github and godot not playing nicely with each other, and the other half are due to a viewport bug that's since been fixed as of godot 4.3... it can't be helped

before/after a very simple shader pre-compiler i made to fix the horrendous shader comp slowdown in godot 4.2.

the scene's material textures are all under 100kb, but since there are 200+ of them, it still caused quite a lot of slowdown.
