In fact this has been the case for like 150 years. I remember reading how Victorian era English aristocrats being astonished at their new wealthy American counterparts doing things like stoking a fireplace or dressing themselves. The US had had structurally higher wages for ages.

Or Ann Hathaway and George Clooney?

Not just that - Dems/Libs had to go through referendums (CA/VA) in order to do so and crushed it. The GOP just did it by dictat.

Alan Richardson (aka “Reacher”) has also been pretty transparent on his use of HRT, etc. I don’t think he has said he uses steroids but almost everything but.

I dunno, maybe take your cues from your Senate Majority Leader who lived through Jim Crow that yeah, maybe grinding the racist GOP into dust is a good and honorable endeavor?

It’s really important we get the post-mortem of the Harris correct, rather than shoehorning our own ideological beliefs onto it. For example, the fact that the parts of NJ in the NYC media market saw rightward swing vs PA which saw little swing tells a lot: Harris ran ads ran in PA but not NYC!

I see you are committed to learning the wrong lessons. At least you are happy with yourself for being right about everything all the time.

Pray tell, how is Dick Cheney a war criminal? Going to war does not constitute being a “war criminal.”

And yes, intervention is good. We should’ve put a missile through Assad’s palace the second he started killing his citizens, for one.

Please, and be specific, how are Liz Cheney and Bill Kristol war criminals? Because you don’t like them is not a reason.

Say it with me: What concessions did a Harris make to Liz Cheney for her endorsement?

The answer is none.

Well gee, what were voters in every country in the world pissed off about? Inflation? And maybe the Dems over performance relative to baseline may have important lessons?

Nah, it’s bc Harris didn’t look into the camera and say she was the same exact communist as I am.

At some point you need to actually look at the data and realize the Harris campaign and Dems in 2024 put up THE BEST electoral performance of any incumbent party in the world. While others were loading by blowouts Trump barely squeaked a win and Dems picked up seats in the House.

lol we just lost power AGAIN. After losing it for several hours Wednesday night. Rural and sur urban places suck at basic provision of public goods.

And there is a good argument militant liberals like us should support him as our top choice. Back in 2019 he made his name pitching court reform! I think he is probably the easiest to convince, or even already there, about the need for institutional reform and modernization.

Trust me, dense places do not have these issues nearly anything at all. At least every other year I lose power for 3+ days - this last time during a blizzard and freezing out - and had to install sewer and we can’t drink well water. This is Cape Cod. Boston has NONE of those issues.

As a person who grew up with a lot of hunters as friends, we both need to (1) eradicate the deer population which is achieve swarm levels and (2) the prevalence of CWD means I will never, ever eat venison.

I mean Spanberger is the counterexample - a moderate liberal whose driving force is "burn the GOP into the ground and bury them, also trans rights"

Stupid stupid stupid. Why do you keep pitching this slopulist junk?

Want a better policy? Convert your sales tax into a VAT, adopt permanent full-expensing for investments, eliminate state conformance with 199A/no tax on tips/no tax on overtime, eliminate real-estate cap gains exemption.

Tthat chart is almost meaningless absent (1) age at death and (2) quality of retirement. Compared to 1962 or 1982 people are living longer and healthier lives.

Call me a simpleton for yearning for the last, but I miss the Toilet Paper USA memes of Kirk’s forehead getting progressively smaller and/or his forehead getting bigger.

Thanks. I’m very curious about opinions on Geoff Duncan. As an outsider, he reads to me very much as a Bill Kristol type - ie I can make my peace with higher taxes and universal childcare bc my main goal is to burn MAGA into ashes.
