I am deeply grateful for all the artfriends I've found or kept over the years who vibe with my ideas and OCs/Sonas cuz y'all are few and far between, simply because I get so scared to find new artists before even trying to find one I *vibe* with

y'all make comming you a lot easier

this is, even more than money, the biggest reason I don't have more commissions showing up despite CONSTANTLY talking about and wanting them, because I am either too shy/nervous to talk to a new artist or it is straight up *just hard enough* to find a way to talk to them that i just don't!

similarly if I can't tell how an artist feels abt drawing what i ask for i'll probably just steer clear in the future just cuz I would rather not even *risk* bothering them with my comm ideas, like I ain't take it personally I just step out of the way of commissioners with more appealing ideas/chars

any additional barriers to commissioning somebody just makes me so fuckin worried I'm intruding or overstepping some boundary somehow that i just don't bother if it's too difficult to get ahold of someone, it is way too nerve-racking

even if i know exactly what an artist likes/doesn't like to draw just the act of contacting them THROUGH THE CHANNELS THEY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO COMM THEM THRU makes me so nervous, I wanna get a good grade in Customer and ideally give them something they are actively excited to draw

in this case i'm tryna contact a few mutuals who've orbited around in the same spaces as me for years, we got no beef, we've been amicable if we've ever talked before, it really should not be this hard to find how to give them money for their goods & services AND YET
