❀ : "anyone want to be sent reluctantly on a quest and feel ever - so uneasy and off - put by the fact they've now secured a witch of unnamed background and origin watching over their every move ?" i ask the crowd as they begin to leave their seats .

( they know what she's plotting already )

⠀⠀similar silence swathes the witch as dreary eyes roam the sights. such colors、so unfamiliar、inviting、foreign. she rests on a nearby rock、a tad higher up to accommodate for her smaller stature.

“ might this be thine duty ？
keeping watch o'er such plentiful plains ？”

⠀⠀“ mm .. ah ？”

a handful of blinks withdraw the woman from her silent studying.

“ oh、yes ..
forgive mine intrusion、it's simply .. your eyes— they look tired. ”

⠀⠀oh、if the poor boy could catch the glint behind the witch's eye as he muses of his capabilities. this man could serve he well、if cards played correctly.

“ curious .. ”

she begins、her voice raspy and hushed.

“ might thou seek abilities to ... 𝘦𝘯𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 thine skillset、perchance ？ ”

parroting the unfamiliar name、hands fold together. another set of arms extends from beneath the heavy fur coat— cloaking her lithe form、protruding to adjust the large hat nestled upon unkempt tresses.

“ I am the witch Renna.
you are not of this land、are you ? ”

“ you must forgive my forswear ..

Renna served as an alias for the time upon our first meeting.

you deserve to know that much. ”

blue eyes trail over his lowering figure、following his formalities with a soft chuckle. a bit unbecoming of the princess、one could say.

“ it would serve well to re - introduce myself. I am the witch、 Ranni. ”

one hand raises to her breast as she dips her head to offer a nod.
