Every time we take a trip to NAIA we have to stop by Binondo to scoop up some of my favorite Filipino dessert snacks.
Today’s haul includes various flavors of MOCHI (banana, honey melon, orange choco), HOPIA (buko, custard, mongo, sisig, ube, winter melon), and a couple of boxes of MANGO CAKE.

1) puto (steamed rice cake) topped with leche flan instead of the traditional cheese
2) mochi-style glutinous rice filled with mungo and caramel
3) biko (sweet sticky rice cake) topped with roasted coconut curds
*Peaches and pineapples too. And lots of Nestle cream. Tastes like fruit ice cream once it's chilled. 🤤
I've only started putting apples and pears into it just recently. They add a better balance in texture and taste IMO, as opposed to the green grapes that were in my mom's original recipe.

When I was growing up my mom gave mini pecan tarts as Christmas gifts.
I continued her tradition here but using kasoy (cashews) instead of pecans because it’s more of a local preference. They’re always a big hit. #foodsky
