This is incredible.
Also. Fuck RFK Jr.
Breaking: HHS’s ban on gender-affirming care is struck down. Rarely have I read a ruling this sharply worded.
“This case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”

The first line of BURY THE DEAD is "Going home is hard." Ollie hasn't felt like it's home since her mom and sister were murdered, but she's struggling to keep a connection to her past while moving toward her future.

Oooh, I'm curious, what's an abbreviation of an abbreviation that you use?
my queer cozy horror THE LORD OF THE WOOD releases in July!
Arthur has never fit in at home except with his family (he's gay & autistic & doesn't know) getting lost in an enchanted forest & perhaps finding a new home in the Lord of the Wood

Ah, yes, a friend who lived in Australia for a year did mention that people in Australia tend to abbreviate a lot (whether it's words or names) so that makes sense.
In the US, some people do city nicknames, but the village I live in doesn't have one to my knowledge😅
#QueerWritersChat A5: Nothing to promote, so it's question time!
What are some of your favorite queer books with the "found family/home/belonging" theme?
I like that there's a nickname for the town
#QueerWritersChat: To avoid spoilers, I’ll share a bit of Ness’ backstory: she left her parents’ home at a young age because her parents planned to kick her out once she was an adult.
She left before she could be left, which is a habit of hers.
#QueerWritersChat A3: If we’re going with “a sense of home” to mean where a person can relax and be themselves, I’d say I consider what type of environment makes them feel safe and happy.
But if “sense of home” means a space that seems lived in, I try to include details that appeal to the senses.
#QueerWritersChat A2: At the start of the book, Ness lives in a tiny apartment in Eshara (the capital of the country Heskann), and wanting a home/stability is a driving force for her throughout the story.
Hi #QueerWritersChat! Bluesky is being slow, but I’ll try to keep up as best as I can.
Anyway, I’m Leah (she/her) and I have one more chapter and an epilogue left to write for the first draft of my Be Gay Do Crimes adult fantasy romance.
Welcome to #QueerWritersChat!

Glad to see the Target Boycott is trending. We’re urging our members, & our communities to shop local, not Target for Back to School. Target has not supported Minnesota, the place they got their start, so we are shopping elsewhere

If I manage to finish this draft by the end of the month, I will be ECSTATIC
I finally finished writing Ch. 35! Clocking in at 5,270 words, it's officially the longest chapter I've written in this draft so far 😅
Anyway, I hit 79k for the entire book and only have one more chapter plus an epilogue to write. I'm so close!

to be fair, even if I haven't read all the classics, I was at least introduced to a lot of them by this fine fellow
Dracula
I'm determined to read it this year though!
