New work from the May firing.

I sprayed my latest sculpture with some Helmer flashing slip this morning.

I photographed some new work the other night. Over 100 shots for 5 pieces, and I was rushing it. The last piece is a couple of years old now, but I did some additional sanding on it to bring out more of the color hiding underneath all the black, crusty ash layer.

First sculpture of the year.
Iโm excited to have my piece, โCopper,โ featured in the February issue of Ceramics Monthly as part of River Galleryโs 20th Annual Ceramic Invitational! Looking forward to the opening this Saturday! Be sure to stop by if youโre in the Cleveland area.
The beagle, โUno,โ among others, will be on view at River Gallery in their upcoming 20th Annual Ceramics Invitational opening next Saturday, February 8th. If youโre in the Cleveland area, come by and give these pups a pat on the head!
My plan is to continue my current body of dog forms, but I will be making pieces that are 3-4ft in height, and then firing them in the Starworks noborigama or in other anagamas in the Seagrove area.
Iโm in central North Carolina and work as the supply shop manager at Starworks. I received an NC arts council grant for 1,000lbs of clay and firing to make and wood fire some larger scale work.
Debris from a project I worked on 4 months ago. Should be receiving my artist support grant this week or next, so that will be changing soon!
I drove to Ohio over the weekend to drop off this piece, among others, at River Gallery for their 20th Annual Ceramics Invitational opening February 8th!
