This is reductive. Israel and Iran used to be allies. Then the 1979 revolution happened and they took a more “💀 to Israel” tack. Does that mean Iran started this war by turning on Israel? Absolutely not. It’s just — like a lot of geopolitics — hard to neatly assign blame if you go back far enough.
