It was technically above freezing today in Newcastle...
Here's @ouseburnfarm.bsky.social orchard pond this afternoon.
On the right is Byker Bridge. On the left is the Metro Viaduct, and below is Ouseburn Farm, one of my favourite places in Newcastle.

It’s the 1st of December! Are you feeling festive yet? Sponsoring an animal can make a really thoughtful gift and is a great way to support Ouseburn Farm. 🎁

One reason we love Ouseburn is because we have so many amazing small businesses here. From Northern Print to the Seven Stories bookshop (and many more), you are spoilt for choice. Shop local and support small businesses if you can!
If you’re visiting our shop this festive season, you’ll be served by either our lovely retail supervisor Michelle, or Jen, our brilliant volunteer. You might even be served by one of our adult placements who are learning key customer service skills with Michelle. 👋🏻

A book called ‘Grow’ by Riz Reyes and Sara Boccaccini Meadows. There are lots of different flowers and insects on the book.
Our two shop workers. Michelle, with short silvery hair, and Jen, with a short blonde bob. They’re both wearing black jackets.
It’s Black Friday, and we know your inboxes will be filled with tempting deals. However, choosing to shop small means you can support your favourite venues and give back to your community. 💚

Some of our lovely Ouseburn neighbours will be open late so you can support independent shops and buy some really special Christmas gifts for your loved ones.
See you then. 🎄
We will have special late opening hours so you can come and see our festive farmyard from 3pm-6pm, sip on a hot chocolate, feed some animals and have a mince pie or a sandwich - we'll have hot beef or veggie turkey sarnies for sale. We will switch on the lights at 4.30pm! ✨
Our Christmas tree has arrived! Karl and Richie are getting into the festive spirit… 🎄✨
Come and join us on Thursday 28th November as we take part in Christmas in the Ouseburn!
We have some lovely Bee Lovers Gift Bags containing Bee Sponsorship certificate and name on our Bee Wall, Ouseburn Farm honey, a honey drizzler, & beeswax food wrap now available in our farm shop. They are the perfect gift to support Ouseburn Farm this Christmas! 🐝🎁
If you know anyone who might benefit from joining our Placement Programme, please get in touch with Andrea for more info: andrea.haynes@ouseburnfarm.org.uk
Anna, who has additional needs attends our Livestock workshop. She was previously on placement at Cafe Beam, so this has been a lovely progression. Anna told us, “Coming to the farm makes me feel happy. I like learning new things and socialising. My favourite animal is Willow the Cow.”
Meet Gemma! She's blind and has mild learning difficulties. “I’ve never seen an animal, but I've felt a crocodile (!) & tarantula. I love the feel of a snake, a tortoise & Bruce the Bearded Dragon. I love fluffy things too. The farm makes me happy. My fave thing is feeding & touching the animals.”

Hello! We are Ouseburn Farm, an urban care farm in Newcastle, supporting adults with learning disabilities through meaningful workshops and providing fun learning opportunities for families and kids. We have lots of animals, an orchard, fields, a beautiful garden and on site cafe. Come and see us! 🐽
