The Justice Secretary suggesting being accused of a crime and imprisoned for 3 years is just like “scraping your knee” in order to justify undermining and restricting a fundamental cornerstone of our democracy is one of the most absurd arguments from the government so far

My own answer to this pretty odd question would be that I wouldn’t choose to taser anyone.
Who would? And framing this around political opponents is really problematic.
On reflection, I think post the Robbins appearance, KS will have to resign — OR torpedoed the government’s line to the HoC in three crucial regards.
"Olly Robbins is not a shouty man. He did not thump the table, or launch into a tirade against Starmer for how he has been treated. Instead, he quietly and methodically demolished Number 10’s latest convoluted explanation of the indefensible."

This reporting suggests Bridget Phillipson's legislation will muzzle those of us who want to protest against Far Right speakers who say our Black family are intellectually inferior and our Trans family are all potential sex offenders and are mentally ill.
What an unbelievably terrible Government.
Ridge "Starmer knew this stuff before.."
Miliband "So you're saying he should never have been appointed?"
"Yes"
"I agree with you"
"Thats Starmers fault.. look whose lost their jobs.. should Starmer lose his job, because he's the one who made the error"
"I dont think so, no"
Diane Abbott, "It's one thing to say as he insists on saying: nobody told me, nobody told me anything"
"The question is, why didn't the Prime Minister ask"
Daily Mail’s Brexit poll goes hilariously wrong. The poll is still going, and at the time of writing 86% (29,109 people) of respondents have voted yes to reverse Brexit with just 10% (3,551 people) voting no. www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/daily-m...
Keir Starmer actually put this in a briefing to Labour MPs of 'useful questions to ask' today. The PM knew of Mandelson's relationship Epstein when he appointed him.
And yet thinks he can still exploit the grief of the victims. This is why he is not fit to be Prime Minister.
“You’re asking people to believe that a Prime Minister who used to be a director of public prosecutions who would regularly be grilling people accused of the most serious crimes can have the wool pulled over his eyes by a simple rearrangement of words from a senior civil servant”
Susanna Reid
Starmer trusted his first-choice chief of staff, Sue Gray, to have prepared an oven-ready plan for power, which Labour would roll out the day after winning the election. It turned out no such plan existed. Starmer then replaced Gray with his election mastermind McSweeney, who had been serving in a political director role. McSweeney was given the power to provide political input on Starmer's behalf into a huge swathe of policy decisions across government and, for a time, things improved. https://www.politico.eu/article/keir-starmer-dangerous-leadership-style-uk-peter-mandelson/
“Starmer assumed Gray had a super-secret plan for governing but she didn’t so they did nothing” is such a wild line, and the hacks seem so uninterested in learning more about this astonishing, farcical setup
Exclusive: Sweden has intelligence indicating Russia's systematically manipulating data to fool Ukraine’s western allies into believing its economy has withstood the strain of its war spending & western sanctions, Thomas Nilsson, head of Sweden Military Intelligence, told me & @maxseddon.bsky.social
"'Lots of people think Keir Starmer is a good man who is out of his depth,' said one Labour insider. 'Wrong. He’s an asshole who’s out of his depth.'"
Iran’s president: ‘They post who they will assassinate next and call us the terrorists’
I got asked what it actually was like being in Gaza amidst genocide:
THE PRIME MINISTERS SHAMEFUL IMMIGRATION PLAN WILL KEEP PEOPLE WORKING IN KEY INDUSTRIES LIKE CARE IN TEMPORARY STATUS FOR A DECADE OR MORE. It will keep people in insecure work, make them more easily exploitable, poorer and marginalised - WHEN DID THAT BECOME THE POLICY OF A LABOUR GOVERNMENT?
The Reckoning Comes on 7 May
Labour is about to lose its cities.
The Greens are the reason why.
On 7 May 2026, the Labour Party is going to be evicted from the cities it has occupied for decades, not by the right, but by the left it abandoned.

BREAKING: Post from David Maddox - Political Editor of the Independent
The logic isn't logical. Even if Olly Robbins couldn't tell Starmer *why* Mandelson had failed vetting - pretty implausible as Starmer is given huge amounts of sensitive information - it doesn't follow Robbins could not tell Starmer *that* Mandelson failed vetting.
Darren Jones: "You can't criticise the PMs judgement for information that was not given to him"
Kamali Melbourne: ".. he should have asked the right question"
Spot on. We're expected to believe that Starmer didn't see the vetting, didn't ask about it & didn't ask to see it
It CANNOT be true that the PM was allowed to appoint Mandelson without knowing he had failed his security vetting. If it were, that would point to such a critical level of dysfunction at the highest level of Government on a matter of national security that the whole lot of them surely cannot stand.
Nandy says that scrapping the two child benefit cap was a matter of personal principle for Starmer
A reminder that Keir could have scrapped the cap on day one of becoming PM, but he didn't. Instead he personally suspended 7 Labour MPs from the PLP for voting to scrap it
The Israeli ambassador to the US says Hezbollah are engaged in a horrific occupation of Lebanon.
Hezbollah are Lebanese. Unlike apartheid Israel, which is occupying parts of Lebanon. And Syria. And the whole of Palestine.
So this article from the latest Private Eye states that Teesside Freeport is going to close down.
I have said all along that free zones are Ponzi schemes for the asset classes in rip-off Britain.

Jeez. Labour MP’s have just voted to give police unprecedented powers to ban recurring protests turning a fundamental freedom into a privilege granted by the state.
No protest movement has ever brought about change through one single march or action. How did it come to this?
BBC reports Rachel Reeves criticises the lack of an exit plan from the war on Iran.
Did she say anything about illegality or immorality?

Did ANYONE?
Bombing a school for eg is a war crime. One of many.
Report them all.
Disgusting reporting by BBC using a tiny number of cases to suggest widespread abuse of a system which routinely denies LGBTQIA+ individuals asylum and forces them back into environments of persecution. This article massively distorts the reality of the situation. 1/
