Well, that was intense. Excellent show at Soho place theatre - the first stage adaptation of Le Carré's The Spy Who Came In From The Cold. Bravo.

Yes I also enjoyed it very much. Definitely recommended. (And in a sample of one - my companion - you don’t need to have read the book.)

Although it’s fiction there’s a really interesting book from @aspyalone.bsky.social on this called “A spy alone” which explores exactly this topic in the modern age through the eyes of someone who recently retired from about 20 years inside of SIS and was very familiar with the topic in real life.

“Crème de la crime”. Not that I’m really a crime novelist but @waterstones.bsky.social Victoria are paying me a compliment I’ll happily take.

To the best of my knowledge Tomlinson is now on good terms with his former employers. I’ve no idea if that means anything in a wider context of course.
