When my youngest turned 13 this weekend I created a venmo account. This is one of the things he looked forward to the most about being 13. After I did this, Venmo suspended my entire family's accounts. What a thrilling birthday present to him!
They gave up pretty quick, and I finished the remaining 87% of the project while they watched a movie.
My youngest had friends over for his 13th birthday last night. How do 13 year olds really party? They started assembling a desk.
It’s been a couple weeks working on Kandili, with several updates and plenty more testflight builds. My findings:
1) The App Store is 100% as inscrutable as it’s reputation.
2) Building apps is very fun. I get it now.
3) I’d forgotten how fun it is to have a little fun side project all my own.
For the past few weeks, I've been making an iOS app called Kandili. It's an app that brings to life the Orthodox liturgical calendar, readings, and feast days; with custom typography and handcrafted design. It's pretty niche, but I had a lot of fun making it and I'm excited to share it with y'all.
Now in week two of waiting for iOS app review. I've been told it always takes longer the first time, but dang this is painful.
I just heard about another company using take-home design assignments as a part of the interview process. This spec work is unethical and a terrible way to evaluate candidates. Immediate red flag. Get your free ideas somewhere else, bozos.
Monday was my last day at Chewy. Taking a couple weeks before starting the *next thing*. My list of things to do in the in-between times is long, so not too worried about getting stir crazy.
Terminator 2 with a first timer!
This is our first Prime Day since we let our subscription expire. What will I do? How will I shop???

It’s Incomparable membership month; and, this year, my pals @lexfri.xyz and @dmoren.com joined me to discuss the 1996 classic, “The Rock” for the Sorkin’ In It member special.

I dare you not to smile during this joy-filled 3 minutes.
Wowww! It’s like they made it for us.
I keep reaching over to close the tab for the 3D printer that is tempting my “Add to Cart” fingers. But that tab never does end up closing.
When I'm watching shows at night, and a character gets a cup of coffee, I start to get excited about tomorrow's first cup of coffee. It's one of my favorite things.
Apparently I'll sign up for just about anything.
