i know (and love) that they’ve been pretty good about it throughout the season, but now that cj is front and center these last two games and especially after that press conference, it feels really deeply wonderful to hear announcers noticeably using she/they pronouns (both, as it should be) for cj 🩵

exactly and it’s never a good sign if the BEST case scenario i can hope for is that it lowkey disappears afterwards (like the sperm donor storyline) and it’s almost like it didn’t happen (other than maybeeee the secondary character growth for buck that came of it)

i kinda do this week-to-week especially the last few seasons it’s helped, but if rumors are true i can’t imagine this being tolerable especially if it’s treated like the main character-driven cliffhanger (i assume there might be a boring cop one too) they want to use to convince us to tune into s10

exactly! we just have the school thing, no social media ban but those i’m even more conflicted on. like i had unlimited internet access as a kid and it was so damaging i lowkey barely survived so i don’t want that for kids BUT i know bans like those can be slippery slopes to anti-lgbtq censorship :(

so far today i’ve checked off three bingo squares and two others have been voided as impossible 🥴

we’ll have to see how it goes after this year, but so far as a staff who works with kids and occasionally in the schools (but not daily) the main thing i’ve noticed is the kids seem less upset about it than most of us predicted, and the overbearing parents who opposed it just call the school anyways

that being said i haven’t been a classroom teacher yet, and they were DESPERATE for something to make a difference with focus and it seems like most of them think this is at least a step in the right direction? plus in theory for emergency the kids can keep phones off and in their binders with them

our state/district started this in january (no phones out from first bell of school day to last, at all levels) and i have a chip on my shoulder about these policies bc i WAS a middle schooler texting my parents while hiding under my desk from a shooting, so i’m generally opposed to phone bans
