can you please read the research before posting things like this? you're discrediting actual science, and making yourself look arrogant and incurious to those who have read it

see, there isn't a debate. you can't defend yourself without a debate. look at the replies to his tweet. does anyone there seem seriously capable of engaging in a rational level-headed conversation about anything?

updated solution:

declare very loudly "OH BOY! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT'S IN BOX A!", pause for a moment to whistle an inconspicuous tune, and then super quickly grab box B while laughing mischievously

hmm, i feel like everything of use would show itself in the outputs. but perhaps interpretability work could reveal some non-obvious latent structure

yeah, my point does still apply though. pre-training naturally (incentivizes/is) compression, and compression naturally (incentivizes/is) pattern recognition. if some long-distance connection allows it to store less information, gradient descent will want to exploit that

the interface is really fast. i like that

wdym? training does have to do with association of disparate facts. to form a compressed representation of a corpus, you're basically required to exploit those kinds of connections
