Re-reading rumors at last year's draft about TOR offering #9 + RJ Barrett for Derrick White that Celts declined with laughter
White's a great Celtic but he's almost 32.
Celts coulda had Cedric Coward or CMB plus RJ is not horrible and will be expiring
Did BOS pass up a sneaky GOOD deal from Raps?

That Portland game was GOOD TIMES for Celtics fans!!!
so, when do the Celtics play?
For 76ers/Celts, I expect Nurse to try to bait the Celtics to shoot a ton of 3s, try to grind out some wins on nights the 3's arent falling
I think Nurse wants to follow Thibs blueprint from last year
I hope we use a balanced attack, and hope Queta can beast against Drummond/Bona like reg season
presented without comment, lol ... hahaha
that's a 50-50 series imo
East playoff/play-in bracket is set:
Nice to have Vooch back.
Like most players, he looked bad in his first game after injury
Luckily we've got a few games to get him back in the flow
We're gonna need him in the playoffs!!!!
agree. Big Baby would have been "must watch" against Wemby, lol
teams can offer a 2nd rnd pick a standard contract or a 2-way... lots more than just Bronny, last draft:
fleming, Kalk, Penda, Jones, Thiero, Sion, Broome, Martin, Peavy, Proctor, Richard, Raynaud, Lanier
signed roster deals before opening night, teams can offer either.
yea, this is consistent. Detroit's plan was draft Reaves and offer a 2way, but draftees dont have to accept a 2way, so Pistons would have wasted their pick, because Reaves told them hed decline.
Had Detroit drafted and offered a roster contract, they'd have Reaves
players only opt out of 2-ways, not roster deals. teams take advantage by offering roster deals, (TJD, Raynaud, Proctor) and outperforming their draft slot. no player declines a contract... smart orgs are using this inefficiency to max value of their draft slot...
Celtics cap sheet looks clean now, team under aprons, with options going forward.
Being over the 2nd apron/tax cost marginal assets though
-2 2nds, dump J Springer
-2 2nds, dump Niang
-NOP 2nd dump Simons
-pass on Kalk, Raynaud, Sion to trade down for 2 Super MINS
Full flexibility achieved!
Cs worst pick ever was Jerome Moiso...but picking Moiso started a chain that led to 2 C's titles
Moiso traded for #20 in '03
#20 traded for Perkins
Perk traded for Jeff Green
Green traded for Nesmith
Nesmith traded for Brogdon
Brogdon traded for Jrue Holiday
Jerome Moiso led to Perkins and Holiday
Charlotte playing Sacramento Kings tonight, and it's an interesting matchup of 2025 2nd rounders:
Sion James & Ryan Kalkbrenner vs Maxime Raynaud
I'm pretty comfortable that we are looking at an MJ coming back from baseball in '95 playoffs coming up. I'm just glad to have JT back, and I am not expecting fully operational Jayson Tatum until next year... so I am mentally/emotionally preparing to just enjoy playoff ball.. "house money" imo
Luka Garza was a great signing!
The Boston Celtics proudly present "All the President's Men" bobblehead night, featuring Jason Robards!!!
I assume next year is a team option.
Though given Shulga's leverage, would it be shocking if Shulg-dog's agent was able to finagle a full or partial guarantee?
any details on the 2026-27 part of this deal
The Celts flaw, imo, is the offense, one in each corner, high screen, drive ur man
its exhausting & so dependent on actions 25ft high turning into 3pt shots, that as legs get tired, we dont get any high % shots down the stretch and the offense gets tripd up
passing into 2pt area would really help
Fun exciting game for the Celts, despite the loss
OKC very physical, foul baiting, and all that they commit to for this heel turn to villainy
Still OKC played better, they got better FGAs in the 2nd half and SGA was money in the clutch
Fun game though!
We'll be back, that's right we'll Be Back!
Tough loss for the C's ... 51 3PTAs, tad too much
Reminded of the 2024-25 Celtics more than this year. I know we were missing guys, but I think the 3PTAs were going up a little too easy and a lot of dribble around and chuck possessions...
You always want 2pt attempts should exceed 3pt attempts
Celts passing check on nbacom/stats
17th in NBA in passes/per
Rasheer Fleming who Celtics took a long look at last draft with picks at #28 and #32 is starting to find his groove with the Suns!
Fleming w/ 16pts as Suns WIN over streaking Charlotte hornets

I really think this years team struggles the same as last years... which is it gets stagnant... high screen action & one shooter stationary in each corner has a "stagnancy" or limiting factor in high leverage games and in the playoffs... it works great for most of the 82 though
Celts being back in "Flexibility" is nice...
Spending draft picks to move money, KP, Simons, Niang, or drop under tax (#32 pick last year) is a bummer
This draft, C's have our 1st and MIL 2nd and we don't need to use either to get under the tax line
Could get a couple good guys!
lol
