He then sounds rational (the wording is very "adult") but isn't. The meaning of what he says makes no actual sense, whether because unnecessary challenging, or because it's completely disproportionate or inappropriate to the situation. In other words, Trumpist behave and sound like 10 y.o. with ODD.

This realization came to me as I'm dealing with the education of my own child. A primary school kid with (mild) psychological issues, his reactions to stimuli can (sometimes) be extremely irrational. His need to control the situation push him to extreme reactions, verbal mostly.

It's too easy and an incomplete explanation to say that Trump and MAGA are just fascist imbeciles. While it's partially true of course, the truth goes deeper: the USA, even to an extent the Liberals and Left, are currently only led by uncontrolled emotional responses to stimuli, events and ideas.

So let me get this straight:
1. We attacked a country for doing something it was already not doing.
2. Then in retaliation the country started doing something else that we didn't like.
3. We couldn't stop them from doing this new thing.
4. So we decided to do the new thing with them.

The exact same type of campaigns went on for the last two years to try and get rid of the Socialist-Green coalition in Paris and my own city of Nantes. In both cases they failed, but the vote was too close for my liking in Nantes.
