I am trying to check if the account has any profile picture and at least some name added (rather than just a handle), as well as how many people it follows and if any posts or replies were made.
From the "Accounts to Review" list two accounts also follow me and both of them have been already blocked.

Probably the main driver and logic for this, is that when you unblock someone, then they should continue to follow you as before. Thus, in reality, we would need to have this additional option/functionality to actually remove a follower, rather than block it.
And by moderation list, it means the list via moderation settings, then over some time period manually added suspicious accounts (scam, bots etc.) and then blocked them all at once, yes?
Have not yet tested this feature and for now, have been blocking some suspicious accounts on a case by case.
Yeah - this is a bit strange and also have noticed, that even after blocking an account, it still stays in your follower's numbers.
At the same time, they are not able to see your content & profile.
Based on this, would say that for now, there is no direct way how to actually remove a follower.
