Drogin, a male great white shark, and his trusty pilot fish rising from the depths.

Drogin has noticeable deformation of his primary dorsal fin, due to a 4-bolt SPOT tag that was attached to him over a decade ago. This design is no longer used in favor of less permanent options.

On this particular day, The Legend came right up to my camera with his snout multiple times but never made contact. The electrical fields given off by my rig are a potential cause for this curiosity.

Cal Ripfin (aka Shredder) was one of the most photographed white sharks at Guadalupe from 2001 to 2011. His curious nature around divers made him an ideal subject for photographers at the island.

Sadly, he has not be seen since the end of 2011.

During the brighter part of the days, I shoot with lower exposure, because the highlights will get blown out at higher exposures, so those photos tend to have a lot more contrast in appearance.
