Exactly.

On the other side, I would like to see us find a nationwide solution* to gerrymandering, but until then we need to fight.

*My preference would be a top-two primary that uses score voting, which would make even heavily gerrymandered districts somewhat competitive.

Seconding this.

regular CeraVe in the tub may be what you need right now, if your face is falling off, but it doesn't sink in nicely for me. The new CeraVe Intensive cream/lotion should sink in better, but I haven't tried them personally yet.

That seems like a stretch.

One of the big use cases I see for robots is to help seniors stay in their homes, and a humanoid seems like a poor fit there.

Beyond the fact that other forms would be more stable & suited to helping people stand, the risk of the uncanny valley triggering nightmares or paranoia is real.

Listen, they don't want you to know this. I might not survive telling you, so *listen*.

You will only know true praxis when you can do Lindy with a stranger to a remix of the Pokemon theme song and be free of cringe.

I have to go. There's Hatsune Miku coming up. I'll see you on the other side.

Comic. [Person and person with white hat facing two boxes stacked with $80 price tag and sale tag on each box.] PERSON 1: They want $80 for this? I could make one myself for $10 in parts, an hour of work, a trip to the hardware store, another $30 in parts, another few hours of work, two more trips to the store for $20 more in parts, another hour of work to redo the first hour of work because I messed up, and $80 to buy this when the one I made breaks.

John Cornyn outraises Ken Paxton as Senate runoff looms Both Republican candidates lagged far behind Democratic candidate James Talarico.

Probably helped by people not wanting to donate until after the republican runoff.

At least Cornyn is outraising Paxton, even if he is behind in the polls.

I'm convinced that a good portion of the bacon craze was just a reaction to the low-fat everything we had for decades.

I miss McDonald's salads.

They were never great, but I never got bad lettuce in one (as opposed to other fast food salads).

Acetaminophen Exposure During Pregnancy and the Risk of Autism in Offspring This cohort study evaluates the potential association between prenatal acetaminophen exposure and risk of autism in Danish national registers.

In another massive data set of more than 1.5 million children ‌born between 1997 and 2022, the use of Tylenol during pregnancy was NOT associated with autism, even after accounting for individual risk factors. Autism was diagnosed in 1.8% of children exposed to Tylenol and 3% of the unexposed group.

Happy International Dark Sky Week! 🌌

When was the last time you remember standing under a truly dark sky? Have you ever?

The Milky Way has been lost to over a third of humanity. We’ve scrubbed it from the skies with light pollution.

Follow @darkskyintl.bsky.social to find out how you can help 🌌

Okay, but seriously, could we get our police officers to wear something similar?

It would make them easily identifiable as police (and not EMTs, firefighters, militia, etc) and also makes them highly visible if you need to find one in a crowd (or avoid them on the side of a highway).

Yeah, I live off tv dinners (and frozen veggies), drink too much soda, and probably spend $150 a week, including the non-food stuff I buy alongside my groceries.

Who watches that?

I mean, I get binge watching, but I usually move on to something completely different after the finale, if not before.

8hrs a day, everyday, seems like to should be too much, even for his fans.

Nakia, specifically, is shown *living* the alternative within the first 15 minutes of the movie.

Also, Nakia does propose a non-isolationist alternative to Killmonger's philosophy, that T'Challa adopts at the end of the movie!

Chaco is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with thousands of archaeological sites in the buffer zone. The management plan they want to use is from 2003, before most of the survey work was done!

Scoping comments go on the public record and matter in future legal challenges.

Even a short comment counts!
