Mocking "downwardly mobile" young people, the way I see certain people on here sometimes do, is not something he would have done in a million fucking years.

When I was brought up, that kind of shit was what we expected to hear from republicans.

Democrats, including the rank and file, cared about people who already were poor, and who might become poor or were struggling more than they had been previously.

This...this has been bothering me for a while.

My dad was a union rep.

He cared about both the social and economic aspects of the democratic party.

I was raised in it, almost like it was a noble tradition.

I think he'd be baffled that some of the people with the "fuck you downwardly mobile pmc millennials" attitude considered themselves dems.

The democrats should not become the party of "personal responsibility", who have nothing but mockery and scorn for people facing hardship and hunger and increased precarity.

And the actual party itself is not that.

But there is a certain type of bluesky, bluemaga turbolib who absolutely is.
