I went thru an extended time where it was hard to paint at all due to health issues. Totoro is my "happy place" movie so this painting was a fun challenge to not only get back into painting, but to also get outside my comfort zone while retaining my own style and favorite colors.

I know things are overwhelming and challenging for many of us creatives right now, but I am trying to remain hopeful and remember why I started painting 20 years ago.

I had to take a very long break from social media for health reasons, but I have really missed having a place to keep up with and interact with other artists. Here's hoping this can be that place. This is Astraea, a digital painting I finished in October, 2014. Very(!) loosely based on Greek myth.
