Congratulations to Seattle's Sound Transit, America's fastest-growing train network, which is opening an 7-mile, 3-station extension across Lake Washington today!
This is the system's 5th new segment opened in 2 years, continually pushing ridership up to new record highs!
interior of bus 31-208 with plastic seats.
rare bus catch tonight! although plastic seats are usually only seen in the stm’s newer buses, 31-208 was retrofitted with those as part of a test. #stminfo #montreal

‼️Bonne nouvelle! La STM et le syndicat de ses employés de l’entretien en sont venus à une entente de principe!
Nous saluons cette nouvelle. Les impacts du conflit de travail sur les usagers.ères étaient trop importants pour qu’il se poursuive.

Someone on YouTube was surprised that it snows in March in Canada.
Yep! Sometimes in April too.
But then May is heavenly.

if you want to check out the progress, the only place where you can really see what’s happening is at the intersection of pie-ix and jean-talon where you can see the boring machine being assembled.

césira-parisotto station worksite. a gigantic crane can be seen.
took a walk to see the worksites for the construction of the blue line extension in #montreal. there isn’t much to see, but the machinery used is very impressive nonetheless.

you only get good, reliable and frequent transit if you live near the metro or the rem in montreal. it’s sad cuz bus service used to be so much better.

montreal is that one city in canada that's very good at getting infrastructure built - largest rapid transit system in the country, largest network of bus lanes, etc
but it's really kneecapped by having worse service levels than vancouver or toronto. long waits for buses are most noticeable
