Attendings don’t say “I don’t know” they say “that’s an excellent question, why don’t you look it up and tell us about it tomorrow” and I think that’s beautiful

I’m a Polio Survivor. I Don’t Want You to Get It. Polio is once again a public health threat in the United States. Grace is disappointed, though not surprised.

Since everyone’s finding old and new friends, take a moment to read my story, I’m a 32yo polio survivor because I was not vaccinated. Pass on my story, repeat it, tell it to any vaccine hesitate parent. No kid deserves vaccine preventable diseases

Unbelievable amount of anti Indian sentiment recently. I believe 🇺🇸 is an incredibly welcoming country which respects merit above all. Americans have always been extremely kind to me personally, but the amount of hate against Indians recently these days with re the work visa debate is disheartening 😔

Early Tecovirimat Treatment for Mpox Disease Among People With HIV - PubMed Results of this cohort study support starting tecovirimat in all PWH as soon as an mpox diagnosis is suspected. Additional research is warranted to confirm these findings.

US based STOMP trial of tecovirimat (tpoxx) for clade 2 mpox fails to demonstrate efficacy benefit. Just as it did not in PALM 007 in clade 1 mpox in DRC.

There is no known treatment for mpox

Vaccination is the key control strategy and more research is needed.

Do antibiotics exist that aren’t flagyl?

my first case of a Bluesky pile-on!! 😂😂😂

I should have clarified that we use OPAT when oral options not feasible (frequent enough to keep us busy!)

The collateral gut damage is a real issue and a good point, though not sure PO Abx that much better. Wait till the oral carbapenems arrive! 😱😱😱
