Well, I can tell you, it WAS amazing to visit, in person!! And I am proud to say, I did a pretty damn good job in my descriptions. All I had to go on where photographs I scoured for the tiniest details, and what I could glean from their website.

Naturally, when I was making a list of places she could explore during her own trip to the city, this one piqued my interest—for obvious reasons! It’s rare to find my name out in the wild, spelled ‘correctly’ and related to something as fun and unique as a piano bar.

I came across a note that I had made, over a year ago, about one of the special places Mollie finds…Brandy’s Piano Bar. She spots it from a distance, and later, persuades her crew to visit.

Sloths compensate for poor vision by having a phenomenal sense of smell and a great spatial memory!

Their bad eyesight also plays a key role in the sloths slowness.

Being legally blind myself, I understand the hassle! My sunglasses are often my very best friend. 😂 😎

Sloths are blind in bright daylight!

They have a very rare condition called rod monochromacy, which means that they completely lack cone cells in their eyes.

As a result, sloth eyes are colour-blind. They can only see poorly in dim light.

They also remind us that less is more. Sloths master energy efficiency and balance, teaching us lessons about sustainability (and sanity!) in a fast-paced world. It’s no wonder they’ve become both environmental and cultural icons, and even a national symbol of Costa Rica!

In addition to drinking milk, they will begin to sample leaves from around mom’s mouth around one week old.

This teaches the baby which tree species are safe to eat!
