Congratulations! We made it to another one!
I am ready for spooky electronic groovy summer
If it helps tide you over, the Coachella audio is on archive.org. I would imagine it's pretty similar to the album, but with crowd noise. Been working for me!
Nice shirt, too!
A flier for a benefit show for Francesca Hong's campaign for governor of Wisconsin. April 25 at X-Ray Arcade with Chappell Hoan, Ape in a Tank, and Alkaline Quartet. www.xrayarcade.com
Saturday. Come party and help Francesca Hong get elected governor
Could it be a promo?
Right? If they're reacting to her ubiquity, fine I guess, but discounting her work like that is just some serious bullshit.
Disliking her is fine, disliking pop music is fine. Saying she's overrated because she has no lasting classics and is musically useless? Not even trying, my dude.
It's always a little amusing when they stumble into something that could actually help people
Macrovision be damned!
Got the last copy of Diamond Seas at Acme. It's the only RSD thing I wanted, so it's been a complete victory.
I fully, STRONGLY disagree with the take. "Madonna can't sing" sits in the same lane as "Abba makes simple, facile pop songs." Just ain't true.
Gonna go see if Acme has Ray of Light on vinyl
Shut it down, folks, we're done
Rental? RENTAL? FUCK THAT SHIT I was taping stuff off HBO!
(and of course I was renting tapes, come on)
I'm sorry, Owen. I don't know if there's anything harder than dealing with that.
BRB heading back to the early 90s to start an industrial band called BIG FLOOF
The Del Rubio triplets!
"When you see the girl in the picture shown to you earlier today, you will say "this is the girl." The rest of the cast can stay, that's up to you. But that lead girl is NOT up to you. Now you will see me one more time, if you do good. You will see me two more times, if you do bad. Good night."
Tagging @j-t-r-o-n.bsky.social for the design work
Even as the platform crumbles around it, the tradition lives on!
I like Pavement, I listened to Crooked Rain a lot.
There's absolutely no fucking way they're the Beatles of the 90s. There isn't one. Moms knew the Beatles. Sinatra knew the Beatles. Pavement was for indie nerds like me.
What's really great is that Time's Up sheds the spandex and replaces it with Bad Brains/Little Richard, and thus is even better.
A huge improvement from previous jobs where, if you were not "ambitious" and could see how moving into management would solve none of your issues, you were somehow worthless.
I take it as a sincere victory that, in our otherwise annoying self review process, when we are asked about other positions in the company we are allowed to answer "n/a" without repercussion.
We invite the rest of the world to c'mere once
