Many congratulations to M.R. Carey for winning the 2026 Philip K. Dick Award for OUTLAW PLANET!
Available from Orbit Books wherever you procure your reading material
Oh gosh! This is amazing. It’s always wonderful for an author (and her agent @knifewitch.bsky.social ) to see book art, but to also get such lovely art right before the book comes out in North America? That’s the greatest gift! Thank you @vega-ly-art.bsky.social
Quick PSA that I’m closing to queries at the end of the month. I will be reopening in the summer!
Also shout if you have spare energy and would like some in-person TTRPG or board games
*hugs* bodies and brains suck.
Thank you 🖤
Thank you 🖤
Let’s chat properly when I’m back from holidays because I have a ton of recommendations. But on the combining interests, Arcanist’s Tavern in London (queer-owned gaming pub where I go to play d&d) and Portal Bookshop in York (they recommended Cinrak years ago so have played a part in that story!)
I've been saying for a while, Wuxia's going to be a rising wave. Oh look, we've got about half a dozen shows coming soon. To brush up your Xia sense, here's some handy articles. In this one, I look at how the genre relates to similar ones in Western fantasy. 1/ #sff snowpavilion.co.uk/condor-heroes/
I need to get in contact with @goodlawproject.org but all they have is a contact form on their website. Any ideas?

*very 👀👀 at your perspective*
I think you’d like it!

Arguably the best Claire North to date.
And it’s not just me saying nice things. READ IT.

😂😂😂😂
Ok heading straight to the preorder button
Will I ever be able to spell “Caribbean” correctly on the first try? No one knows…

I don’t think I’ve ever pressed the full request button faster. It’s horrifying, it’s beautiful and hey, can there ever be too many cannibal books?
So grateful that this weekend’s editing is a revolutionary, anti-colonial, political fantasy that feeds my rage at the world
This book makes me wish I was still reviewing

Absolutely delighted to see my acid-western-queer-romance novella, FOR THE ROAD on the BSFA longlist!
It's a mega year (go check it out) but would be extremely honoured if you'd consider chucking in a nomination towards some of my rawest, strangest writing:

Argh, glad you caught it and no wonder - it’s so fragile and equilibrium (one bad day messes me up for a week as a recent broken pen showed…)
Look, I'm going to tell you a secret. If you buy an e-book while it's on sale, you never have to read it. If you have $2 to spare & want to help that particular author, you can just chuck the book into the oubliette of your TBR. Every sale helps. The author will never know, but you gave them a gift.
Going to Waterstones to look at cannibal books is not something I ever expected to be part of my job
Oooh I’m really curious about that one!
I couldn’t be more thrilled. UTAMA, a historical fantasy about Singapore’s founding myth was one of my standout reads of 2025 and we’ve got big plans!
