The usual siren voices are giving us Maginot Line thinking for a blitzkrieg world
Hybrid warfare - the kind we actually face - works by exploiting inequality, division and social breakdown. Disinformation finds purchase in communities that feel abandoned.

But everybody feels worse off, could it be that other costs have risen more, water and fuel bills for example? Or is it that crumbling public services, NHS etc make us all feel poorer.
I can see that on the first chart but (and please correct me if I’m wrong) the second chart shows a pretty dismal increase in incomes from 2010 onwards, roughly between 0.5% and -0.5% years and that’s not deducting housing costs.
Isn’t housing cost a huge factor here? Your income might have gone up but if your mortgage or rent has doubled or tripled that means you are significantly poorer.
His party is in power. The representation of the people bill will cap overseas political funding and block crypto donations which is welcome.. BUT has easily exploitable loopholes. All corporate political donations should be banned but this government won’t go that far. I wonder why?
Very good point Phil but you happen to be in power. How about a law to stop all the dodgy donations? While you are there you could stop all the donations to Labour from private health care and arms companies.
Only labour can beat reform here says Emily Thornberry
Londoners may regret protest votes for reform or greens in local elections says Sadiq Khan
Emphatic green win. Labour and Reform both down.
Hi @emilythornberry.bsky.social,
You might want to chat with @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social about this whole disinformation thing....
…This trend was only reversed in 2017, when a highly popular manifesto won Labour’s highest percentage of the vote this century against huge internal and external opposition.”
Brilliant letter by Hugh Williams: “Labour’s heavily curated view of its history is undermined by the data. The party lost votes steadily in every election between 1997 and 2010…
This is why Daily Mail journalists are going after my family now.
The right wing propaganda machine will not work on the Green Party.
We're ready to end Rip off Britain, end the cost of living crisis and make hope normal again.
Credit to @jackseale.bsky.social for being perhaps the first mainstream journalist to even acknowledge the possibility that the reason Sir Keir Starmer has reneged on every promise he's made is because he's not a particularly good or honest person.

Listen to a grieving mother and have no doubts: water privatisation has been a lethal scandal. Progressives must wage a battle against a rotten capitalist system that milks our resources – and destroys lives. Let the fightback start with water.

@richardburgon.bsky.social : "how did it even get to the stage where the PM was interviewing Mandelson.. the simple answer is political. It's because it suited the interests of a tiny faction in the Labour party, funded by big business, who wanted Mandelson at the heart of things.." 🎯
Labour's core voters, on which its re-election entirely depends, are crystal clear about this: they absolutely hate its illiberal, intolerant, draconian, rightwards turn. Hence the total collapse in support. So how does the government respond? #SuicideMission🤦♂️

🚨On Tuesday the Prime Minister will order MPs to vote to undermine and restrict a fundamental cornerstone of our democracy - the right to trial by jury. It’s a move that will set us on a path to toward authoritarian justice.
MPs must step up and tell him NO
youtu.be/mXTpGebSSB8?...
The Courts and Tribunals Bill will remove your right to a jury trial for serious criminal offences.
Toff magistrates/judges will decide your fate.
Chances of miscarriage of justice will increase. Working class, poor, minorities will be the biggest losers.
Starmer, Shellbrooke, Taylor should be ashamed.
Desperate, they know their time as MPs is up so they're lashing out hoping to score some political points.
@greenparty.org.uk is going to replace them!
The majority of the UK is with me, no more illegal wars!

Lmao
The Representation of the People Bill is a rare chance to renew our democracy - yet it ignores the voting system driving chaos and disillusionment.
We need MPs standing up for fair votes in this upcoming debate. Urge your MP to attend: actionnetwork.org/letters/repr...

Forgive me for my cynicism but I thought the art of politics was to tell voters you are going to do something and then once you are in power do something completely different.
