i don’t think national republicans are chomping at the bit for some guy from maine to make into the face of the dems unless he’s a very effective progressive once he’s elected. They’ll spend a lot more time talking about Mamdani

what does that even mean? the republican candidate in kansas is going to campaign on his opponent being somehow spiritually linked to a guy in maine that got a totenkopf tattoo while in the marines?
if you live in maine then vote against him. i’m pretty sure he’s gonna win this primary but it ain’t my race so im not particularly invested in the outcome. but i do think it’s worth talking about what he is actually saying because he’s running an unbelievably effective campaign despite his issues
this is just that one mosquito from a bugs life (1998)
look, if you don’t believe that there are working class people who feel like they were lied to, i don’t know what to tell you. You need to offer a meaningful alternative to these people if you want to win an election in most of the country
did you bother to read what he said? “I have no patience for blaming other working people for their suffering.” “These people are angry about the exact same thing we are — a political system they know is robbing them blind,” “Truthfully for a lot of these folks, this is not what they voted for.”
found out today that there is at least one (1) actual mayor that listens to my podcast about how all mayors are insane. the world is actually kind of beautiful sometimes
his office would release a statement later where he mostly says people should be more involved in local politics so people like him don’t end up being mayor https://coloradocityrecord.com/articles/60/view
the article doesn’t mention that he later claimed to have been “hacked” on facebook. his post claimed he “won’t deny for one minute what i said in my post this morning.”, and yet he would soon do just that
He spent perhaps 4 hours or so embattled before resigning
www.bigcountryhomepage.com/news/ex-colorado-city-ma...
during that disastrous cold spell, when the city was out of power he posted about how the government doesn’t owe you anything. then everyone yelled at him, he resigned from office via facebook post. he then told people to stop yelling at him because he’s not even mayor anymore.
on the pod @postoctobrist.bsky.social mentioned the embattlement to resignation time, and i feel it is my duty to bring up perhaps the greatest to ever do it, colorado city texas mayor tim boyd.
a 2017 post where someone made up a fake set of tweets from 5 months from now. Trump tweets “the media ingores my very sincere kerplappy to Australia! no one will report nuclear missiles create JOBS” and hillary responds the only kerplappy that covfefes in these gelpfssAAaæ5 are the millions dead! spongebob face
this was prescient, just later than expected
I know next to nothing about Hasan but the fact is that he looks eerily like a Gigachad, whereas Schumer & Jeffries did that pose-perfect virgin walk offstage a few months ago, so. Look, we know who can properly apply the bone smashing hammer, alright
it’s sad these people spend so much effort convinced they defend “womanhood” from some assailant while actively working against it. Most women competing in the olympics would be getting their first ever test for DSDs by this policy. The biggest moment of their life snatched away by a flawed test
this might only be a problem when i am adding alt text, i think it keeps me from doing this when i dont have the alt-text window up
oh cool the app i use will double post if i am impatient and tap the send button multiple times while it tries to upload an image
the 85 year old doordash employee. it was engagement slop that someone posted as sincere at parker yesterday
they killed the 85 year old delivery guy in cold blood
its sad to see. i think it's a bit excessive to call this ai psychosis but it has the same underpinnings as the causes of ai psychosis. I think we fail to understand just how bad it amplifies confirmation bias
i was trying really hard to have a meaningful conversation but i’m afraid my effort is entirely one-sided since i’m trying to debunk something no one bothered to actually write
the part of the substack post about malfunctions and rejections mentions bamboo ballots and claims to be from a propublica article titled ElectionTech Failures Persist. i cannot locate an article by that name or similar in content
the “bamboo ballots” thing is a 2020 maricopa county conspiracy that has never been proven despite the extensive and expensive third party “forensic audit”
ok this is a tough one, i’ll give you that. this substack post that is a conversation between the writer and ChatGPT operating in “TOTAL TRUTH MODE” is pretty difficult to address because I keep trying to look at chatgpt’s citations and they aren’t real articles by cook pvi or propublica
i cannot have “something” without knowing what you want me to provide you
are you engaging with me or just posting links at me? I want to know what you specifically believe
So what do you actually believe happened in say, pennsylvania? I’ll grant that the bomb threats exist but that isn’t remotely what the ETA has focused on.
i want to know if you’re willing to engage in conversation about your beliefs or not.
It's really wild that guys like Edsall will argue that it's imperative that Democrats support enacting *new laws* to create new restrictions and regulate something that can, should, and has been handled on a local/organizational level up until this point.
are you a human or just a bot blasting out the same claims as much as possible?
election truth alliance are grifting off of spurious claims about the election.
i’m kinda chuffed by the sincere venom in this post moments before i got blocked. telling someone i hope they die alone is such a huge escalation at the drop of a hat. I hope it brought them some sense of satisfaction
