I don’t disagree. I also think media literacy has always been a necessary condition for a functioning democracy. I’m a fan of AI inasmuch as it invites more media literacy, inquiries into provenance, etc.

Unconscionable. I'm so sorry, Connie.
Very interesting arts foundation putting out a call for project submissions challenging the myths we've built around the "old internet"
Deadline to submit is May 4th!
My body has done the same several times this week. Not sure if it’s anxiety or what.
I. Drink. Your. Milkshake!
That was perfect
Gah. Sorry to hear that, Connie :(
I was wondering the same thing.
Magical thinking for the technocrats. Prompt engineering for everyone else.
I’m in this photo but was not tagged
do you know an awesome, civic-minded customer experience leader who can run a call center, a website, an app, & is a terrific partner & manager? & hangs out in commuting range of San Francisco? please point that person right at this post 👇
Uh, we paid writers $100/article back in 2008 for UX Booth. I would expect more from Fast Company in 2025.
I wonder if we need a more nuanced way of describing consent in this context? Rather than “passive” consent models like terms of service or “active” consent models like informed consent, what if we approached consent as a continuous process (similar to “social license to operate”)?

Congrats! We’re applying this summer.
If Pavel is right then Apple, the very company that popularized the phrase user experience (if I’m not mistaken), appears to have lost the plot. I really hope not.
Wow. I’m so sorry Dan.
It’s been fun watching the unlikely rise of MCP as a standard, which is open and messy in a way that mimics the dynamics of the good parts of Web 2.0. Maybe something interesting will happen! www.anildash.com//2025/05/20/...
I wanna be. The very best. Like no one ever was.
Thank you for your service. I don’t miss dreamweaver (or frontpage) but the VCs do, apparently.
As someone who looks for ways to explain VIM to my UX students, I think this takes the cake.
Congrats! Time to update your bio!

18F, the federal government’s technology shop, was just demolished by Musk’s team. It was a cost-recoverable org, charging agencies for their expertise, using a consulting model. Its cost to government was negligible, its benefits huge. My team there once saved DoD $500 million.
A thread about 18F:
Speechless. I’m so sorry, Ron.
It’s almost as if we’re seeing the rise of gender-climate change deniers.
