Biggest book yet coming right along.

Soviet Land: I wasn’t familiar with this book, or Pierre-Henry Gomont, but I had a fantastic time. Gorgeous and very well conceived and realized. Definitely worth your time. www.booklistonline.com/products/981...
I Am Their Silence by Jordi Lafebre: A book I’d been looking forward to, and a beautifully drawn, breezy murder mystery. www.booklistonline.com/products/981...
I didn’t want to talk about it until it was actually happening, but I’ve begun reviewing graphic novels for Booklist. My first reviews, of Soviet Land and I Am Their Silence (linked below) are out now in the February issue! (Spoiler: I really liked them both.)
It’s that time again. Another ComicConnect auction means another Comic Art Live stream where we talk about the highlights. Come join us at 9 PM EST. www.youtube.com/live/C7BAEK-...

First Sazerac of the season
It’s like people say, there’s a first time for everything.
Just messaged on discord
Does anyone have any familiarity with early Family Guy episodes who can help me out with a work thing?
A small black notebook
Berni Wrightson’s 1983 illustrated edition of Frankenstein.
More bookbinding tonight, including some timely repairs on a classic.
Heroes is great. I highly recommend it.
Hey, really nice running into you as well. Hope to see you at another show soon.
Thanks!
Thanks, Eric. I botched a couple things but as a prototype I’m pretty happy with it.
My latest bookbinding project.
The thing about the crazed influencer doing a selfie video while everyone else is fleeing and then tainting the crime scene is that THIS IS WHO THE TOP TWO PEOPLE AT THE FBI ARE, TOO
WSJ just retracted its report that the shooter’s ammo was engraved with “transgender and anti-fascist ideology.”
It smelled like bullshit from the beginning, and every conservative who ran with it should be shamed into obscurity.
Black Flame by Gretchen Felker-Martin doesn't come out until November here in the UK, but I think I'll pre-order it and put it away as a Christmas present to myself. Perhaps you'll consider doing the same.

I'm so glad Josh Shapiro held the flag at half-mast for this noble protector of the Jewish people
Given the people who run this place are transphobic crypto fascists who kick trans women. Let’s promote Gretchen’s work on here for her. She has a new book out. It looks really cool, you should grab a copy and help her out, and also you’ll get to read a cool book bookshop.org/p/books/blac...
Pure cowardice, and sadly not the first example of this we’re going to see.
DC Comics Cancels “Fourth World” Line After Creator Jack Kirby Admits To Killing Nazis In WWII
He was doing all of this anyway. This basically changes nothing, except we don’t have to hear Charlie Kirk whining about it anymore.
on a practical note, gretchen is now out about $1400 a month (DC’s opening page rate is still $70 for writers, yeah?) so please go buy her books (MANHUNT, CUCKOO, and BLACK FLAME) and—very important!—leave short, *glowing* reviews about them online to help with the algorithm
I'm really having trouble processing the relative silence from Barack Obama about a colleague who he'd hosted at the White House, the Minnesota State House Speaker, being assassinated, but rushing to get out a weepy statement about Charlie fucking Kirk.
Wish the news outlets and baseball teams (lol???) rushing to eulogize a D-tier right wing mouthpiece would include some of their favorite inspirational quotes from the guy. Should be easy, right? Show me that soaring rhetoric and big thinking worthy of such veneration
This is disgraceful. We all know Trump and the American right's views on free speech and that's they want to decide who this right applies to. The race to legitimise this perversion by major American institutions is appalling appeasement that leads nowhere but the gutter.
