How Labour ‘Rigged’ an Election to Block a Leftwinger From Leading a Council Labour used the accessibility provisions for a disabled councillor and single mum as a factional weapon in order to ‘rig’ an election. Polly Smythe reports.

Where else on Earth would a secret party-within-a-party collaborate with hostile media outlets on destroying its own electoral prospects; impose its leadership candidate via fraud; win national power, then explode in a welter of corruption allegations involving Russian oligarchs and sex traffickers

The PM is in trouble, and facing a major scandal because he tried to force through the appointment of a friend of a notorious paedophile
Do you:
a) Keep it together because it's time to strike
b) Keep it together because you're loyal and wait for it all to blow over
c) Tell the public to "fuck off"

In two to three years time, when Starmer and his government are no doubt deeply unpopular, I hope we in the media will ask ourselves: "Why were we so supine during the long 2024 election; why didn't we hold Labour properly to account while we could, and ask more probing questions, and explore their records, rather than give them such an easy ride?"

I think we can see the reason for this is the same as any number of abysmal scandals at all kinds of major British institutions: Nobody wants to go lifting rocks because of the very high risk that moving one of them will send a geyser of scalding hot corruption leaping two hundred feet into the air.

Musk scorned “shady” loopholes, yet offshore tax tricks likely saved Tesla hundreds of millions When Tesla released its annual report for U.S. regulators in January, the Texas-based automaker, led by the world’s richest man, reported a federal tax bill of zero dollars for 2025.

After more than $250 billion in revenue and billions more in subsidies, Tesla has never paid taxes... that's thanks in part to tactics like pretending $18b in profits came from places like Singapore and the Netherlands

The "gender critical" movement will not leave this trans woman alone, even though she has had to relocate to Australia over their bullying.

Marking an LGBT+ person out as a "sexual predator" is how bigots have traditionally endangered LGBT+ people.

Tweet by Martina Navratilova. "Predator. That is how he should register. A sexual predator…" quote-tweeting a tweet by "Biology Rules OK" about Dr. Beth Upton, a trans woman

This tweet is highly defamatory and Martina Navratilova should be fired from BBC Sport for it.

It demonstrates an horrendous level of hatred for a trans woman (who was cleared of all wrongdoing in a recent tribunal) because she is a trans woman.

This isn't 4D chess, these people are venal and think you are stupid. To be honest, if you cannot see that this was an obvious quid pro quo situation wherein Mandy was given a plum job for services rendered, you are, in fact, a bit of a rube.

The whole 'Starmer only appointed Mandelson because he knew he was dodgy and Trump would like him' line only works if you ignore:
a) the fact that Trump almost vetoed the appointment himself.
b) Labour Together.
It's unserious as a claim.

Has the Starmer government given a formal reason for why it has not yet either published the UKG response to the ICJ ruling from July 2024 or banned the import of settler goods and services from occupied Palestine

The Case for Replacing Keir Starmer If Labour MPs don't act soon then they risk losing their century-long position as the dominant party on the left of British politics

The unavoidable truth for Labour MPs is that if they don’t act soon then they not only risk losing the next general election, but their century-long position as the dominant party on the left of British politics

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 in stamp duty, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should resign if she had “any moral decency”.

Now we learn he set up four shell companies that let him avoid paying £100,000 he owed in tax and to then transfer the cash to Reform

Trevor Phillips said on Sky News this morning that "everybody in the country who could read a newspaper" knew in advance of the Mandelson appointment that he was problematic

is this the same Phillips who interviewed Mandelson on October 08 2023 and didn't ask any questions about Epstein friendship?

So Lambeth Labour have been reported to the Electoral Commission for basically telling packs of lies in their local election leaflets. Just absolute scumbags at every level

The whole party is the problem. Those that haven't backed the shit that labour has liberally spread have passively watched it happen. They are all responsible. Genocide, racism, ableism, transphobia, totalitarianism, it's all of them.

As PM, Starmer's sole deliverable is to ensure Labour stays in power. From day one he's shown he's incapable of doing so - he isn't the leader Labour needs.

False starts, back-tracking, half measures, and not one identifiable ideological policy supporters can get behind.

If he stays we get Reform.

One of the veritable litany of reasons he must go. In fact his crime is much bigger. He won a big majority and has squandered it in lies, corruption, incompetence, bad policy, u turns, broken promises, lickspittle pandering to Trump and an active role in genocide and war crimes

Reform really should be an absolute gift to a sitting government. Deeply target-rich opposition leader who is badly tainted by Trump. Back rank of even more unlikeable characters. Real nervousness among voters about them.

That Labour is still doing so badly shows exactly why Starmer needs to go

"I walked into a situation in which there was already a very, very strong expectation, coming from number 10, that [Mandelson] needed to be in post and in America as quickly as humanly possible," Olly Robbins tells MPs.

"There was a generally dismissive attitude to his vetting clearance"
