I’m really looking forward to this next Saturday: these three poets on one bill is a real treat.
I’ve enjoyed Helen Mort’s poems since even before her first collection, but this is a great chance to catch up on her more recent work, like The Illustrated Woman - lucky the reading’s in a bookshop!

I appeared on the Making Trouble podcast to chat with Molly Naylor @mollynaylor.bsky.social about focus & creativity. It's a really great podcast if you write or create professionally or for pleasure, that covers lots of topics with many guests & is medium-agnostic.

Kate Stables AKA This Is The Kit is on the pod this week, talking about the trouble with saying no. It’s more about the delights of saying no tho tbh. And what happens when we don’t do it enough.
Similarly, I sometimes see people decrying therapy & any kind of personal work as a sort of consumerist hyper-individualistic denial of societal inequalities making us ill. As if getting well before the fall of Capitalism is a de facto counter-revolutionary act, a kind of betrayal
The great Julie Hesmondhalgh joins us on the podcast this week, with an honest, funny, open conversation about ego and its impact on creativity.
You’re the best! X
🛁🎙️ I ADORED this conversation with Maria Ferguson! Maria is a poet and theatre-maker. We start with the problem of ‘losing heart’. What happens in the weird lull after you’ve released a major piece of work? How do we move forward after a period of questioning everything? It’s a corker of an ep 💕
New ep today and it’s with the brilliant Deborah Frances-White. We talk about indecision, perfectionism, and how to ‘trust your obvious’. 🛁🎙️
It’s Rob Auton on the pod! Lucky me! Lucky you.
I interviewed the wonderful @mollynaylor.bsky.social as one of my guests this season and she in turn has just interviewed Adam Buxton for her podcast Making Trouble.
This now puts me only 3 degrees of interviewing away from Louis Theroux and Jon Ronson.

Writer, podcaster, and self-confessed ‘pie-fingerer’ @mollynaylor.bsky.social gives us the five tracks she’ll meet in Hell!
We talked wedding music, directing comedy, flutes in popular music, and the Really Wild Show.
Head to podfollow.com/hellish to be taken to the show on your pod app of choice.

This post was inspired by @mollynaylor.bsky.social's chat with Andrew McMillan in this week's episode of the Making Trouble podcast.
It’s Andrew McMillan day on the poddy today! We’re talking about (decent) exposure. Listen wherever you get yours! 🛁🎙️
I'm interviewing two of my favourite writers in one of my favourite venues. This will be a real treat 🤌🏻
Another goodun this week. This section where Jess talks about the stress of having unexpected free time as a parent in a creative field resonated.
Sound on
It’s comic and writer Jessica Fostekew on the podcast today! A great chat about overwhelm and focus. Lots of juicy, useful stuff.
It’s Amy Liptrot on Making Trouble today! We discuss the topic of BOUNDARIES when writing from and about our own lives. Great chat. Listen wherever you get your poddies. 🛁🎙️
Today on the podcast I’m talking to the mighty @joshuaidehen.bsky.social. We chat about what impacts our self esteem, how Josh got into poetry, good and bad teachers, and how to speak to children about their achievements. Great chat! Lots of fun! Subscribe/listen wherever you get your poddies! 🛁🎙️
This podcast is seriously good... I find it dead useful as a full-time creative, but I dare say it'd be fascinating and insightful for people who are simply interested in/engage with the arts.
The guests are spot on. Molly's a brilliant host. It even has an intro by Grace Petrie. Give it a whirl 🤌🏻
So @mollynaylor.bsky.social has finally done the decent thing and gotten herself a podcast. Listened to episode one today (FEAT: @joedunthorne.bsky.social) and it’s GREAT. Really warm, funny and insightful stuff.
If you’re a writer of ANY stripe, this is for you
