Huge news for fans of the Cortex system and more news to come. I’ve been working for a long time to get to this point and I’m thrilled to share the announcement!

I get that your marketing department needs to justify their paycheck, but "Inclusive Footware" is just about the most ridiculous concept I've heard in a long time.
"Inclusive footwear for everyone with the courage to try something new and show the world who they are. A source of confidence to propel them all the way."
My man, you make pieces of cloth and rubber that strap to people's feet so they don't get all gouged up on rough streets.
Living deep inside the e-commerce universe, it's fun to occasionally read awful corporate speak like this:
"With a heritage that spans more than 100 years, [we] offer footwear that empowers everyone to wear whatever makes them feel good about themselves."
This is what democracy looks like! Delegates filled Hampton City Hall for our 2026 DFL Dakota 20/58 Organizing Unit Convention. We met candidates, elected organizing unit party officers, elected Delegates to attend the CD2 & State DFL Conventions, voted on Resolutions & more! #MN #DFL #DakotaCounty
Pretty sure that's St Paul, not Minneapolis... But thanks for the post.
I'll put together a list. A good chunk of it was almost the full run of First edition Chronicles of Darkness, plus a bunch of stuff I've kick-started over the years and finally realized I'm never getting to the table.
Tried to unload a crap load of old RPGs today at a geek swap meet, but only "werewolf the apocalypse revised" and "Oz: dark and terrible" moved. A few other of the things we brought moved too.
I worked in the high school computer lab in the early 90s. I remember assisting at a workshop for teachers and some of the older teachers pulled the foot pedal with the Mac Pluses. My favorite was trying to use the mouse as a pointer.
The neuro-spicy kid has picked up a new hyper focus on Turing Machines and is busily designing computers to subtract binary numbers in the back seat
But with a light touch, compelling backstory I have found all sorts of great opportunities to tie things that are happening in game with my backstory.
If I'd come up with detailed numbers of how many years I've been in stasis or sorts of technology he was familiar with, and who his friends were, etc, then there would be a ton more mental gymnastics for myself and the GM to weave the character into the game.
And that is, excepting a few other bits and bobs given to me by the GM literally my full backstory. Everything else, the gM is free to insert into the game as it becomes appropriate, and it's been a blast to play.
I love this so much. I'm playing a character in a Numenera game now who was from one of the previous ages, where he was the subject of a bizarre experiment and ho Phillip J Fryed until a cure could be found, but that world ended before the cure was found, so now he's a fish out of water
hey champ i’m gonna take the shackles off of both you and me real quick: you don’t have to develop long intricate and detailed Lore(tm) for your oc to be “good” or taken seriously or whatever
Winter was pretty mild.. it's spring and fall that are killer.

If you see this, post Malone

There were literally no restaurants in my town selling pies (well aside from pizza. We are a college town after all), so we made two at home. The key lime will do double duty for St Paddy's Day.
Oh, sorry. 42 km. It sounds a lot bigger that way
Well, you run for about 26 miles.. that's about it.
Watched "The Bride!" I'm glad that Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal are still doing movies together. Also, it was an interesting movie
Bluesky is where all the coolest 50-somethings hang out and refer to the youngest posters (age 38) as kids
"GM screens are bogus and unnecessary barriers between GM and players that can be replaced by a good reference sheet and rules that don’t make you hide your dang dice"
Or you're playing your game differently than other people and that's fine. Why is that so fucking hard for so many people to understand. Believing that your way is the One True Way is not a "nuanced TTRPG take," actually. 🙄
Exactly. I want social interaction to have teeth, especially in a game like V:tM. There are things that the ST/GM can do to enforce things, but the rules need to guide GMs so that death isn't the only consequence. Losing dots of Retainer, Herd or Resources for example, or other fictional positioning
Which brings us back to the original point: I want games to stop using violence as the only or most mechanically interesting part of the game. If it was as mechanically engaging to steal someone's ghoul as it was to put them into torpor maybe we wouldn't end every game with the 11pm kill box.
