As a matter of principle, you can either have a dinner that celebrates the First Amendment or you can have a dinner that features Donald Trump. You can’t have both because the president holds the freedom of the press in contempt. www.mediamatters.org/donald-trump...
If I were only 50 years younger...
We already KNOW how to make super babies, you eugenicist creeps! And it's all the things you fucking fucks are fucking up! THREAD!
Israel killed an average of at least 47 girls and women per day in Gaza.
A new analysis published by the United Nations shows that more than 38,000 girls and women were killed in between October 2023 and December 2025.
Breaking News: A judge dismissed President Trump’s libel lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal’s publisher over a note to Jeffrey Epstein.
THANK THE GODDESS
The framing here is wrong. Most of the jobs available are poorly paid work such as social work and preschool teaching. So it's not so much that women are grabbing all the new jobs. More that the work is the kind we pay shit for so it goes to girls.
And of course I did it out of a sense of environmental responsibility and not because I have no fashion awareness. Also, my daughter is absolutely delighted to wear my truly-from-the-80s ski jacket and other iconic items.
I would just like to point out that I have personally done a whole lot to save the planet by wearing the same clothes for, like, 40 years.
For years I used this delightful FluMist image for that very reason
What's cute and furry and just might kill you if you decide it's worth more as dinner or a jacket? @colincarlson.bsky.social and colleagues took a look at the wildlife trade and zoonotic disease

Wildlife trade drives animal-to-human pathogen transmission over 40 years
New in @science.org ‼️ In the most comprehensive study to date, we show that wildlife trade is driving animal-to-human zoonotic spillover at a planetary scale, with +1 spillover per host every 10 years. Live animal markets and illegal trade pose even greater risks. 🔓 www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Lesson: Don't read the NY Post.
Watch this to the end because it makes a very important and serious point for #pressfreedom. A bazillion kudos to HBO and its lawyers for standing behind the show. Please share widely.
Exclusive: The acting director of the CDC has delayed publication of a report showing the covid-19 vaccine cut the likelihood of ER visits and hospitalizations for healthy adults last winter by about half, according to two scientists.

“A whole generation of children bears the brunt of this conflict."
Actually, it's several generations. When I lived in Lebanon more than 40 years ago, Israeli forces were shelling villages and towns and stopping people from traveling in their own country.

Anatomy Fact #1: Did you know that when your body hair stands up when you're cold, etc, it's doing so because there are TINY TINY little muscles in EACH AND EVERY HAIR follicle hauling them up? 🧪 They're called arrector pili muscles. You can see one here.
