Folks, I’ve officially made it - I’ve been followed by the New York State grid operator NYISO. You know, only the team that keeps the lights on for the biggest city in the nation! I try not to let the electricity go to my head. Let me know if you do control room tours @nyiso.com ⚡️⚡️⚡️ #energysky
Honestly, I think there’s a chance that electricity prices rise so much it offsets the loss of PTC and ITC. Of course it’s consumers (me!) that will pay the difference.
I will keep making memes until this crisis has abated #energysky

Thanks for posting all the stories! I do read the headlines you post
Remarkable
lol you know you’re too deep on the grid when the targeted LinkedIn transformer ads start coming #energysky
I want to be optimistic as well, but slowing growth is a hell of a lot different than decline.
If we ever get building transmission again in this country we’ve got to do some cool designs like this.

According to Mark Christie, New Jersey is down 2.6 GW of generation over the last 10 years, meaning they’re reliant on imports (and their power prices are about to go through the roof). They still have a plan to build 11 GW of offshore wind but that’s not happening under Trump? @jessedjenkins.com

Seems like something @cleanpowerdave.bsky.social would know
I appreciate it Kevin, I’m pointing out that PJM, the largest grid in the country, is significantly behind this level:
845,823 GWh across PJM in 2024
14.5% coal
44.5% gas
0.5% oil
32.2% nuclear
1.9% hydroelectric
3.7% wind
2.1% solar
0.6% other
Total fossil = 60%
Total non-fossil = 40%
