Media needs to stop with "critics say" and just quote the actual language of the bill.
HB 249 creates a new category of "seminudity" which can be used to arrest women who aren't nude, but are wearing clothing — leggings, t-shirts without bras — that religious groups feel is too provocative.

Judge LaShonda Hunt must still accept or reject the deal, though. For now, she's deferring.
I feel like this kind of misses that none of these things are even genuinely revolutionary. they are still based on the bourgeois-statist paradigm of state philanthropy and capital redistribution rather than a fundamental change in living and working.
god im so sick of hearing about the "price at the pump" I hate cars and I am not a big fan of this stupid society where the price of gasoline is THE popular shorthand for cost of living.
#OtD 12 Apr 1927 the Shanghai massacre began when thousands of communists, workers and students were murdered by the nationalist Kuomintang. Until then, the KMT had been supported by the Chinese & Soviet Communist Parties as well as some anarchists stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/8364...
I get why everyone is sympathetic and thinks it's epic when some completely atomized worker does some spectacular act of industrial sabotage or assassination or something but its also just kind of sad. discontent manifests this way because its not manifesting in a collective way that matters.
ohhh. I thought it was bad that the Ukrainian army played its role as an arm of western imperialism in Iraq, but now I know they did it valiantly, so its okay (:
Illustrated cover image titled “Behind the Face of AI,” showing a split face: one half is a tired human with a worried expression, the other half is a glowing robot face. The contrast suggests a human hidden behind an artificial intelligence persona, set against a blue comic-style background.
🚨NEW INQUIRY! - Behind the Face of AI🚨
In this short comic, two data workers describe their work impersonating an “AI” chatbot for a major social media platform. Sleepless nights, penalties for sounding “too human,” and emotional drain are just a few of the job hazards.

Text from the original BBC article: Radin, also in his 20s and living in Tehran, said: "About then hitting energy infrastructure, using an atomic bomb, or levelling Iran. My honest reaction is that I'm OK with all of these."
Text from the updated BBC story: Radin, also in his 20s and living in Tehran, said: "If attacking targets in the country brings down the Islamic Republic, I'm fine with that. Because if the Islamic Republic survives this war, it will stay forever."
Wow this is insane. The BBC posted a story yesterday with a supposed quote from an Iranian citizen saying he is okay with the US dropping an atomic bomb on Iran. After pushback, without public acknowledgment, they just changed the quote in the story to something completely different.

This fiction was not only used to prosecute Martinez, but it was part of a broader narrative the regime wished to create. This was used by DHS and individual agents to justify escalation and use of tear gas against residents, particularly in Little Village.
Just one example from CBP reports:
Mamdani, like most every other of the Democratic politicians that many of you are sick of, seems to think so!
Don't be so easily impressed. Zohran is still in his response here defending the border regime from a position of respectable bourgeois statecraft. Ask yourself, is there really a way to reserve a special body of armed men to enforce the borders of capital and deport our neighbors with "humanity"?
I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK

goes without saying this applies to many avowed "marxists" too, but the ones who reject the state and nation are usually a little better at also not falling into the trap of declassed populism
there are many anarchists who have decent political instincts regarding the state and nationalism who still fall into the framework of the capitalist state and its nation, its amorphous "people", by making this mistake.
if you only appeal to "the people" or "popular power" instead of the working class and class power, workers control in the most literal sense, i dont believe you actually see very clearly where revolutionary potential exists in this society and your analysis and practical politics will suffer for it
