We seriously need to rethink this whole AI experiment!

Thanks! The pace of attacks is certainly accelerating.
I hope more awareness we bring leads to resources to help health systems stay ahead of these threats ❤️
On April 6, cancer patients at Brockton Hospital in Massachusetts showed up for chemotherapy infusions and were told to go home. The hospital’s information systems had been hit by a #cyberattack.

New AI models are making easy for hackers, and that’s dangerous for hospitals.

PeaceHealth Oregon’s top executive, who was placed on administrative leave last week, has now been ordered by a federal judge to testify in a lawsuit against the hospital system.
Worth watching this case.

An #Adobe Reader #zeroday #vulnerability is being actively #exploited via #malicious #PDF, allowing #hackers to steal data without user interaction, with no patch available.

Glasswing is identifying exploits at a breathtaking pace, so much so that anthropic delayed its release of Claude Mythos. No human can actually measure the scope of vulnerabilities that exist in the wild as of today.

We’re cooked.
I'm on the train back to DC – I call on all my colleagues to come back, too.
Congress must vote to end this war IMMEDIATELY.
The personal liability argument draws inspiration from a legal playbook used against Big Tobacco last century, in which lawyers argued that the companies created addictive products that harmed users.

We are aware of recent reports regarding targeted phishing attacks that have resulted in account takeovers of some Signal users, including government officials and journalists. We take this very seriously. 1/7

Wild.
Unfortunately we should expect retaliation in the form of cyberattacks on healthcare infrastructure in the coming months.
Following the dissolution of USAID what is emerging to replace it are exploitative one-sided deals proposing the exchange of aid dollars for sensitive health data, lack of reciprocal benefit and agreements that bypass multilateral frameworks.

I’ll leave this here since apparently we seem to have a problem with finding evidence.

There won’t be an accounting of the lives Axel ruined through his own sexual harassment. He’s guilty of more than poor judgement.
I just heard from another Columbia classmate with a link to the Axel Epstein article saying “So unsurprising. We all knew.”
I have a male friend who spent some time in Axel's lab. About the 3rd conversation he had with Axel, Axel broke the ice with "So, have you fucked [a female postdoc in the lab] yet?"
My friend was horrified...
I’m sorry that happened to you. Columbia has been harboring horrible men like this for decades. And yet he will continue to do research & be on faculty.
Here to lend support. Like I said, I wondered how many other women noticed and resented this. I know Nancy and I weren’t the only ones who did.
