It's critical that people understand Trump took the world to the brink, and that congressional Rs showed their hand: Given a choice between armageddon and constraining Trump, they'll choose armageddon. It's also critical that we try to bring the crisis to an end. www.offmessage.net/p/republican...

I’ve been thinking this would be a great moment for any Dem with Ambitions to get out there and be like “y’all, we have a splitscreen of two potential Americas right now, you ultimately cannot have both, you need to choose between Artemis II America and demented homicidal babyman America”

It would take less than 2 dozen honorable Republicans to stop this tomorrow and prevent an atrocity, but there are not two dozen honorable Republicans.

Had an orange boy years ago who was allergic to nearly everything, especially grains and terrestrial meat (we made him his own grain free food from tuna trimmings) but loved to put his whole head in a bag of Chex mix, allergens be damned. We poured out a bag for him when we dispersed his ashes, RIP

I have one that will drink my coffee. Thought she was going for the milk in it until I was out of milk one day and she still tried to drink it black!

I feel like this is instructive for indicating what widespread use of AI will do to skills it replaces (and that we should keep using our brains)

family plan for Qobuz and use Soundiiz for each person to migrate playlists - was easier than I thought it would be.

I've been enjoying Qobuz so far. Migrated all my playlists from spotify without trouble. Still need to migrate my podcasts to something else though.

This is my old team. The "rabies team will be down to just one person with the clinical expertise to advise state and local officials, and the pox virus team will have none." A disservice to our best scientists, the health departments that rely on them, and the country.

About 64 ICE agents were reportedly deployed to the Atlanta airport.
AJC reporters at the airport have observed them milling about, but not actually doing much of anything.
“They can’t do anything. They’re not trained,” said George Borek, an American Federation of Government Employees union steward representing Atlanta TSA employees.
Borek said immigration agents he’s spoken to said they weren’t sure why they were there or what they were supposed to be doing.
Important to note: ICE agents are getting paid. TSA agents are not.

I joke about this stuff but 15 minutes before the Trump post hit the tape there was a surge in e-mini price and volume. Someone knew and traded.

BuzzFeed Nearing Bankruptcy After Disastrous Turn Toward AI Three years after its pivot to AI, the writing is on the wall for BuzzFeed. The company said there's "substantial doubt" it can keep going.

This is the destination of every company that tries to replace creative human workers with AI slop.

Published average last frost date I've seen is April 15 for ATL, but my collected 30 years of airport data and 10 years of Clark Atlanta data suggest March 29th is closer to average last frost. Either way the second week in March is Too Early!

I might be more willing to use AI if the the AI enthusiasts didn’t talk so much like

-people recruiting for a religious cult
-frat boys at my first college party trying to get me to drink the mysterious dark liquid from the red solo cup they just handed me
-19th century snake oil salesmen

I think they might have better luck spending two thousand dollars holding a press conference where they detail who made the key decisions to collaborate with the Trump administration, how and when they were fired, and explaining what would stop that from happening again.
