The US is now paying more than any other country for climate change damage, study suggests | BBC Science Focus Magazine Despite being the biggest carbon emitter, the US is already paying a disproportionate price for the climate crisis.

A new study from Stanford University links US emissions to financial damages in that country and others. Researchers found the US to be the largest emitter of GHGs (1990 to 2020), and suffered $16.2 trillion in losses due to climate collapse.
